    Descripción

The California Trade Justice Coalition is a statewide coalition that has been at the center of some of the biggest trade justice fights of the last decade, helping defeat the Trans-Pacific Partnership, pushing for stronger labor protections in the USMCA, and backing the fight for a TRIPS waiver to expand access to medicines globally. We bring together labor, environmental, immigrant rights, faith, family farm, and community organizations across California to challenge corporate-driven trade rules and build real alternatives rooted in working-class power, democracy, and international solidarity.

    • Coalition Building & Education: Convene leaders from these organizations through face-to-face meetings and/or conference calls to develop, update, and execute Congressional district-by-district campaign plans. Deliver 2-3 educational presentations per month, ideally in person, centered on educating and recruiting new members from the labor and environmental movements.
    • Event Organization and Media: Organize public events, conduct earned media activities, and lead other campaign tactics.
    • Policy Monitoring: Stay informed about national and local trade policy developments.
    • Government Relations: Communicate with California’s Congressional delegation and other elected officials.
    • Coalition Coordination: Coordinate regularly with the Director/Senior Advisors of CTJC, and TJEF.
    • Database Management: Maintain the database, including uploading contacts once a month.
    • Newsletter Development: Oversee the production of a monthly newsletter.
    • Strategic Relationship Building: Identify key leaders for long-term participation in the CTJC and build relationships with them.
    • Fundraising: Solicit funds and membership dues renewals from supportive local organizations and others to aid in both short-term and long-term in-state campaigning.
