The goal of the Nutrition Education & Food Growing Systems VISTA is to strengthen the Star of the Sea Foundation's capacity to provide sustainable nutrition education and food-growing opportunities throughout Monroe County. Working with community partners, volunteers, and local stakeholders, the VISTA will develop systems, resources, and partnerships that increase access to nutrition education, healthy foods, and hands-on agricultural learning experiences for low-income children, adults, and seniors.
Compensación
The AmeriCorps annual living stipend is paid bi-weekly and set at the federal level. AmeriCorps also has healthcare benefits, child assistance benefits (if eligible), and the choice of an education award or cash stipend after completion of service.

SOS provides housing assistance due to the high cost of living and shortage of affordable housing options in Monroe County, FL. Lunch is also provided daily.
