SENIOR DIRECTOR -- LEGAL SERVICES

National Center for Victims of Crime is dedicated to serving individuals, families, and communities harmed by crime. Based in Maryland, NCVC was established in 1985 has become the nation’s leading resource and advocacy organization for victims of all types of crime and for the people who serve them. We have played a critical role in shaping the national discussion on the impact of crime and what victims need in order to recover.

The Senior Director - Legal Services is an active participant on NCVC’s leadership team. This is a high-level position that is expected to engage in innovation and thought leadership that promotes growth of NCVC’s legal service offerings through diversified funding, strategic alliances, and new program possibilities. In this role, the Senior Director leads a team in national scale delivery of direct services to victims/survivors, training and technical assistance (TTA), information, resources, and services to victim service professionals.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Providing budget and financial management and approvals for specified grants and projects and programs. To include budget development, monitoring, and modifications.
• Providing high-level leadership, supervision, and management on specified projects, programs, and grants including all grant reporting requirements and grant compliance regulations.
• Overseeing and tracking grants relating to the provision of legal services for crime victims other assigned project and program deliverables.
• Identifying and establishing new partnerships with professionals and organizations with similar missions.
• Identifying gaps in the field and develop, deliver, and expand professional training(s) to include webinars, e-learning, in person, and other modalities. This includes internal and external audiences.
• Assisting events team with national conference and other events as needed.
• Developing new programs and identify new funding opportunities.
• Overseeing development of technology, data training and orientation procedures for specified grants relating to the provision of legal services for crime victims.

Qualified applicants will possess:

• A Juris Doctorate, as well as a minimum of 5 years practicing law.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in nonprofit management
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience working in training and technical assistance, ideally with midsized to large nonprofit focusing on victim services, criminal justice, justiceinvolved youth, education, or another related field.
• Hands-on experience with project management and grant writing
• Excellent communication and leadership skills Ability and willingness to travel as requested.
