Interim Institutional & Public Funding Support

Interim Institutional & Public Funding Support | Approximately 10–15 hours/week

Row New York is seeking an experienced institutional fundraising professional to provide immediate support writing grants and meeting public and private institutional deliverables.

While our priority is someone whose immediate strength is high-quality grant writing and reporting, we are building toward a more comprehensive institutional fundraising function, so experience and interest in portfolio management, prospecting, and funder strategy is welcome. Support will be for three months initially with the opportunity to re-evaluate at the end of that period.

Responsibilities may include:

• Managing multiple deliverables / projects related to Row New York’s foundation, corporate, and government funders
• Developing proposals, LOIs, grant applications, reports, and other funder communications
• Managing grant calendars, deadlines, deliverables, and renewal opportunities
• Working with program and finance staff to gather outcomes, budgets, and other proposal/reporting information
• Supporting public funding applications and compliance/reporting requirements

We are looking for someone with at least 3 years of professional experience who is an excellent writer, highly organized, strategic, and able to translate Row New York’s work into compelling funding opportunities. They will have a track record of delivering high quality work independently and in a timely fashion. Experience with New York City philanthropy and/or public funding is strongly preferred. This interim support work will be performed remotely.

We anticipate this would be an approximately 10–15 hour per week engagement to start. This is an immediate interim need, but there is opportunity for this work to evolve into a full-time Institutional Giving Manager position on the development team.

Budget:

The budget for this engagement is $75 - $100 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience. The successful applicant will be required to sign a standard consultant agreement. This is not a benefits eligible position.

Based in Upper Manhattan and Queens, we are committed to broadening access to rowing, deepening the impact of the sport on the people we serve, and building a strong and sustainable organization for New Yorkers.
