    ABOUT SCHOLARSHIP PLUS

Scholarship Plus (SPlus) is a New York City–based college success program that supports first-generation students from low-income households throughout their college journey. Scholars receive a four-year scholarship, along with individualized advising and career readiness support. Through this comprehensive model and a strong, opportunity-rich community, SPlus ensures that scholars graduate on time and debt-free. We have maintained a 98% college graduation rate over 16 years.

    ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Program and Operations Coordinator to join our small, dynamic team. You will provide crucial administrative support across multiple divisions of the organization, including operations, programs, development, and direct scholar support. As a key member of our team, you will help manage day-to-day tasks, assist with events and communications, and ensure smooth operations to support our current scholars (80+) and growing alumni community. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education, equity, and supporting the success of first-generation college students.

This is a program operations role at its core. Much of the Coordinator’s day-to-day work happens behind the scenes—helping manage the systems, communications, events, and logistics that keep our programs running smoothly. At the same time, we’re looking for someone who enjoys working with first-gen college students and is excited to be part of the Scholarship Plus community. The Coordinator will have opportunities to connect with students throughout the year, including at events and programs, and may occasionally help facilitate activities or other student-facing experiences.

This full-time position is NYC-based with a Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm ET schedule. While work will be remote, team members are expected to be generally available during these hours. There are several (about 6) in-person events throughout the year — all in NYC — which this role is expected to attend. These events may take place outside of standard business hours. A shared office space in Midtown is available to all staff. Applicants must live in the New York Tri-State area.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • A genuine passion for the mission of Scholarship Plus
    • Open-mindedness and dedication to advancing equity, including thoughtfulness about language to support the delivery of inclusive programs
    • Work efficiently, independently, with a go-getter attitude, and highly responsive within agreed-upon hours
    • Proactive and keen to tackle new projects and apply organizational systems
    • Administrative experience, including: excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong time management and organization skills; and strong attention to detail
    • Working knowledge of Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Forms, etc.) Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Canva, Notion, and Monday
    • Comfortable and interested in learning new technologies (e.g. WizeHive, Bloomerang, Concur, Airtable, Stripe, pre-approved Artificial Intelligence platforms, etc.)
    • Flexibility and desire to work as part of a small team and growing organization
    • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience in program management, administration, or nonprofit work.
