    Descripción

The Deputy Director of Internal Strategy, Operations & Culture is the organization’s second-in-command and primary internal authority holder. This role exists to stabilize, structure, and steward the inside of SnapCo, ensuring that our strategy, values, and daily operations are aligned and executed with discipline and care.

This is a Chief-of-Staff–level role with real authority—not an assistant position and not a symbolic title. The Deputy Director translates vision into execution, holds staff accountability, strengthens systems, and protects the Executive Director’s capacity so that SnapCo can grow without burning out its people or its leadership.

The Deputy Director reports directly to the Executive Director / Co-Founder and supervises senior staff.

    Core Purpose of the Role

To hold the internal container of SnapCo—strategy, systems, staff, and culture—so the organization can move boldly, sustainably, and in alignment with its abolitionist values.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Implementation & Organizational Execution

    • Translate SnapCo’s multi-year strategic plan and four pillars into annual, quarterly, and departmental workplans
    • Track organizational priorities, timelines, and deliverables
    • Identify risks, bottlenecks, and capacity issues early—and resolve them
    • Ensure initiatives across programs, campaigns, events, and development are aligned and not competing with one another
    • Support decision-making around what not to d

    Internal Operations & Systems Oversight

    • Oversee internal operations directly or through managers (Operations, Programs, Development, Communications, etc.)
    • Establish and enforce clear workflows, decision-making protocols, and communication norms
    • Ensure policies, systems, and procedures are followed consistently
    • Support financial and operational oversight in partnership with Operations/Finance staff
    • Ensure grant deliverables, contracts, and internal reporting stay on track

Staff Management, Accountability & Culture Stewardship

    • Supervise and coach senior staff leaders
    • Lead performance management, feedback processes, and corrective action when needed
    • Address conflict directly and early—without avoidance or escalation
    • Stop triangulation, gossip, and undermining behavior
    • Uphold SnapCo’s values without weaponizing care language to avoid accountability

    Executive Director Partnership & Support

    • Serve as a strategic thought partner and reality-check for the Executive Director
    • Translate the ED’s vision, voice notes, and big ideas into concrete plans and systems
    • Protect the ED’s time, energy, and authority
    • Act as internal decision-maker when the ED is unavailable
    • Provide honest feedback and grounded pushback when timelines or scope need adjusting

    Organizational Representation & Alignment

    • Represent SnapCo internally and externally as delegated
    • Support board and advisory committee coordination as needed
    • Prepare internal updates, leadership briefs, and organizational reports
    • Help maintain alignment between SnapCo’s political commitments and its internal practices

    Compensación

    Full medical, dental and vision
