Join Our Team as a DFA Actioneer!
Overview
Denver Families Action is looking for passionate, community-rooted individuals to join our team as Actioneers—the heart of our grassroots movement to ensure every Denver student has access to a high-quality public education. Actioneers play a key role in connecting with families, neighbors, and community members across the city, helping elevate the voices that shape our public schools.
This is a great opportunity for someone who cares deeply about educational equity, enjoys connecting with people, and wants to grow their leadership in community engagement. Bilingual candidates, DPS alumni, educators, parents and those familiar with Denver’s diverse communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Do
- Go door-to-door in Denver neighborhoods to connect with families about the upcoming Denver Public School Board election this Fall and share information about our endorsed candidates.
- Listen to community members and uplift their feedback so it can guide our future work.
- Build relationships and trust with residents through respectful and engaging conversations.
- Help move our community toward action by encouraging participation in the upcoming School Board election and spreading awareness.
- Collaborate with a passionate and values-driven team committed to educational justice.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong people skills—you love talking to folks and making authentic connections.
- Some experience in canvassing, community outreach, or similar work is helpful but not required—we’ll train you!
- A deep belief in the power of public education and community voice.
- Comfort talking to people from different backgrounds and building relationships across difference.
- Knowledge of Denver’s neighborhoods and public schools is a plus.
- Bilingual or multilingual speakers (especially Spanish) are strongly encouraged to apply. (Rate of pay for bilingual canvassers is $36)
- A willingness to learn and take initiative

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $31.00 - $36.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 25 per week
