About the Position
The Social Media & Administrative Coordinator will support the communications and operations of Texas Rural Funders. This position reports to the Executive Director and will be responsible for developing and implementing processes that contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization. The Coordinator will also have the opportunity to support projects directly.
We are looking for a highly-organized professional who takes initiative, multi-tasks, and can work independently. Our ideal candidate is excited about being part of a small, dynamic organization that is working to positively impact rural Texas.
What You’ll Do
- Monthly Newsletter: draft and send high-profile monthly newsletters using Mailchimp. Collaborate with team members to collect content and ensure accuracy.
- Social Media: develop social media posts using Canva and manage our presence on LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Website & Analytics: manage website in coordination with our web developer and track performance using Google Analytics, Mailchimp, and LinkedIn.
- Event Planning: coordinate and plan events and meetings, including: meals, hotel blocks, supporting documents, and vendor payments.
- Meeting Support: support logistics of Board Meetings and Member Meetings; record notes/minutes; prepare materials including spreadsheets, PowerPoint, etc.
- Administrative Efficiency Expert: research tools and applications to improve organizational efficiency.
- Support New Projects: collect and analyze information to support strategic initiatives and new projects. Coordinate special and stretch projects as assigned.
- Calendar Management: support scheduling and appointments for the team. Manage and prioritize schedules to ensure time is focused on critical, strategic issues.
- Correspondence: draft emails, letters, and documents to external partners.
- Travel: must be able to travel in Texas (approximately 10%) to attend and set up meetings.
Who You Are
- Two years of experience in an office environment in an administrative or coordination role.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Canva, MailChimp.
- Demonstrated experience with event logistics.
- Forward-looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills.
- Resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be effective independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate openly and professionally with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work with limited supervision in a virtual environment.
- Experience with social media, including LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Interest in nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, or previous experience in nonprofit a plus.
- Experience in and/or interest in rural issues a plus.
Pay Range
$23 per hour
Hours
Part-Time: 20 hours/week; Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm with flexibility
Location
Austin or working remotely in Texas. Regardless of location, this position will primarily work virtually with periodic in-person meetings and events. Occasional travel required for in-person meetings.
