    TEAM OVERVIEW

    INVESTOR RELATIONS

    At its most fundamental level, the Investor Relations team exists to ensure the financial sustainability of New Profit, by managing the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of philanthropic investors within the New Profit community. We build and maintain partnerships with New Profit's individual, corporate, and foundation supporters and are proud to identify and create a network of engaged philanthropists who add meaningful contribution to – and, in return, benefit from - New Profit’s broader community of social entrepreneurs, policymakers, and thought leaders. We use New Profit’s platform to identify and work with investors who are motivated by the practice of equitable grantmaking, with an emphasis on building relationships across lines of difference in service of New Profit's multiracial, intergenerational, cross-sector coalition (The MIC™).

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Associate, Institutional Partnerships will support the growth and expansion of our institutional funding pipeline. This role is primarily focused on behind-the-scenes support and will partner closely with internal deal partners and team members, providing strategic research, meeting preparation, and proposal development support to equip the team for successful funder interactions. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with strong research, writing, and interpersonal skills, and someone who is eager to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    Institutional Moves Management Support & Reports/Proposal Support (35%)

    • Support the Partner in managing the institutional moves management process, including tracking deadlines, coordinating meetings, and preparing materials.
    • Assist in the development and submission of high-quality grant proposals, reports, and other donor communications.
    • Conduct thorough reviews of proposals and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with donor guidelines.
    • Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, awards, and reporting requirements.
    • Prepare and present reports on institutional fundraising activities and progress toward goals.
    • Assist in the stewarding of current foundation and corporate relationships.
    • Join team meetings such as moves management and IR operational team meetings to gain insight into fundraising strategy and learn how a high-performing fundraising operation functions.

    Pipeline Building (35%)

    • Map and identify key decision-makers at potential funding organizations and develop strategies to reach them, working alongside the team to prepare for these interactions.
    • Play an investigative role by leveraging resources such as LinkedIn and industry news to find new angles, track funder activity, and uncover potential connections.
    • Track and manage the progress of prospects through the pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up and engagement.
    • Collaborate with program staff to understand funding needs and develop compelling cases for support.
    • Analyze funding trends and identify emerging opportunities for institutional partnerships.

    Prospect Research & Meeting Preparation (30%)

    • Conduct in-depth research to identify potential institutional funders aligned with the organization's mission and funding priorities.
    • Utilize a variety of resources, including online databases, foundation directories, and industry publications, to gather information on prospective donors.
    • Prepare comprehensive briefing materials for meetings, conferences, and other engagement opportunities, including donor profiles, giving histories, and alignment assessments.
    • Identify and analyze relevant conferences and networking events, preparing customized materials for targeted attendees.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prospect research and engagement activities.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3-5 years of experience in institutional fundraising, prospect research, or a related field.
    • Proven track record of identifying and cultivating successful institutional partnerships.
    • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling proposals and reports.
    • Proficiency in using CRM databases and prospect research tools.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Strong experience with preparing materials for meetings.
    • Curious and resourceful approach, with comfort working in an evolving, collaborative environment.
    • Experience with prospecting tools such as WealthEngine, DonorSearch, iWave, or Inside Philanthropy is a plus.
    • Adaptable, flexible, and able to learn and build as you go – not getting stuck in one way of thinking
