    Grant & Revenue Accountant

    Join a growing national nonprofit where your accounting expertise directly supports services for children. Vision To Learn is seeking an experienced Grant & Revenue Accountant to join our Finance team. This hands-on role will manage grant and revenue accounting, reconciliations, reporting, compliance, and revenue recognition while partnering with teams across the organization.

    Vision To Learn is headquartered in Los Angeles, CA. This position is open to both Los Angeles-based and remote candidates within the United States.

    Position: Full-Time

    Reports to: Controller

    Salary Range: $75,000–$90,000 annually, depending on location and experience

    What began with a single mobile clinic in Los Angeles has grown into a national program, with 50 mobile clinics serving 145 school districts and 400 cities from Honolulu to Baltimore.

    Position Summary

    The Grant & Revenue Accountant is responsible for managing the organization’s revenue accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance functions. Experience with Sage Intacct and Salesforce is preferred. The successful candidate will bring strong data accuracy skills and the ability to work effectively across teams. The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting foundation, experience in month-end close processes, and direct experience with grant fund accounting, including compliance with donor and regulatory requirements. Public accounting experience is preferred but not required.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure accurate and timely transaction entry into Sage Intacct to maintain general ledger integrity
    • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of grant- and revenue-related accounts
    • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
    • Utilize Salesforce data to reconcile grant revenue, restricted funds, and program-related financial activity
    • Monitor restricted funds to ensure compliance with grant agreements and funding requirements
    • Prepare and submit grant financial reports in accordance with donor and regulatory deadlines
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of grant and revenue budgets in collaboration with program teams
    • Prepare monthly grant revenue recognition and ensure revenue is recognized accurately in accordance with GAAP.
    • Support audit preparation, including grant-specific schedules and documentation, and respond to auditor requests
    • Maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and grant compliance requirements
    • Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies, variances, or trends
    • Prepare monthly exam reconciliation and investigate discrepancies for review by the Controller
    • Collaborate with program and development teams to ensure accurate tracking and reporting

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience
    • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience
    • Grant fund accounting experience
    • Strong understanding of GAAP principles, including restricted fund accounting and revenue recognition
    • High attention to detail and accuracy
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Sage Intacct
    • Experience with Salesforce
    • Experience working in a nonprofit and/or multi-entity environment
    • Familiarity with federal, state, and private grant compliance requirements
    • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong internal control awareness
