    Descripción

Roslindale Village Main Street (RVMS) is an established nonprofit with more than 40 years of successful urban placemaking, community development, and local business promotion. We are seeking a full-time Program Coordinator to join our team.

Working closely with the Executive Director (ED), the Program Coordinator will help build community both in-person and digitally. Core responsibilities include managing RVMS's digital presence and marketing efforts, overseeing our volunteer program, and coordinating the ongoing activities of two volunteer committees: Design and Economic Development. We're looking for someone who is creative, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple projects at once.

This is a rewarding role that offers the opportunity to see the direct impact of your work in a vibrant Boston neighborhood, while gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit management, communications, urban planning, project management, and economic development.

This is a temporary, full-time position beginning early September 2026 through approximately February 2027, covering an employee's family leave, with a strong possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent role with adjusted responsibilities based on organizational needs and performance.

    Responsibilities

    Marketing & Communications

    • Manage forward-facing marketing and communications for RVMS events, projects, and business happenings through a weekly email newsletter, social media (Facebook and Instagram), and our website.
    • Create and manage content marketing efforts, including capturing community stories through photography and videography.
    • Oversee marketing and digital analytics and reporting, with the goal of increasing reach and impact.
    • Partner with the Events Manager to promote recurring events effectively, including managing paid advertising and distributing press releases.
    • Maintain the Community Calendar and approve public submissions.

    Volunteer Management

    • Manage volunteer recruitment and coordination, including scheduling and leading quarterly Volunteer Orientations.
    • Work with the ED and Events Manager to develop and implement yearly volunteer committee work plans.
    • Serve as the primary staff liaison for the Design and Economic Development committees, overseeing all committee projects, including seasonal plantings and neighborhood beautification, clean-ups, and quarterly workshops for local business owners.
    • Coordinate with the Events Manager to identify and fulfill volunteer needs for organization events.
    • Organize quarterly volunteer socials to strengthen and engage the volunteer community.

    Small Business Support

    • Manage the ROSStore Sign Improvement Grant Program.
    • Maintain the vacancy page on the RVMS website.
    • Write and distribute the monthly Small Business Resource Newsletter.

    Fundraising & Event Support

    • Support organizational event coordination.
    • Assist with grant applications on a project-by-project basis.
    • Support organizational fundraising efforts as appropriate.
    • Coordinate with the ED to fulfill sponsor marketing commitments.
    • Work with the ED to produce biannual donor appeals.

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of volunteer coordination or program management experience strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with business owners, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
    • Skill in content creation, including e-newsletters, photography, videography, and/or writing.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple dynamic tasks with attention to detail.
    • Experience with database management and platforms including Google Drive, Constant Contact, Wix, and social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube).
    • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and make the most of available tools.
    • Spanish language proficiency a plus.

    Position Details & Benefits

    • Term: Temporary, full-time role from approximately early September 2026 through February 2027 (~6 months), covering a staff member's family leave. Strong potential to extend or convert to a permanent position, with adjusted responsibilities, based on organizational needs and performance.
    • Schedule: In-person at the Roslindale office 4 days/week, 1 day remote.
    • Compensation: Annual salary range of $50,000-$60,000, prorated for the length of the temporary term based on actual start and end dates.
