Job Description
The Development Associate works closely with Arts For All’s staff including the Program Manager, and Marketing Manager, reporting directly to the Executive Director. The Development Associate is responsible for writing government proposals, foundation proposals, and final reports; developing and maintaining individual and corporate donor relationships; managing donation platforms and grant portals for larger funders; overseeing the year end mailing campaign; assisting the organization with fundraising events; and proactively identifying new funding opportunities for the organization.
This is a part-time, approximately 18 hours per week position with opportunity for growth. While this role is primarily remote work responsibilities, select office days, donor meetings and site visits are in-person. Workdays are typically Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. While availability for full days on Monday is required, there is flexibility to complete the rest of the role’s required hours throughout the rest of the week. Training hours may be outside of usual business hours. The Development Associate role is expected to be New York City based. Evening or weekend availability is occasionally required as needed for fundraisers, site visits, or other similar events.
Arts For All conducts programming in all 5 boroughs of New York. Arts For All’s office is in Manhattan. We are a small non-profit (budget approximately $250K) looking for a dedicated team member to help our organization to grow and continue to serve approximately 5,000 children per year.
Outline of Responsibilities
- Write government and foundation proposals as well as final reports
- Research and approach new funding sources
- Help develop and maintain corporate sponsorship relationships
- Help develop and maintain individual donor relationships
- Assist with the upkeep and oversight of our CRM (Salesforce)
- Manage the organization’s annual grants and fundraising calendar
- Track and acknowledge grants and gifts
- Manage year-end donor mailing, and other fundraising mailings
- Work with GlobalGiving, Network For Good, and/or Every.org - the Company’s main online fundraising platforms
- Attend quarterly Fundraising & Marketing Committee Meetings, and coordinate fundraising events with assistance from Committee
- Write quarterly Development Reports for Board of Directors
- Follow Arts For All’s Strategic Plan for fundraising objectives and goals
- Assist the Executive Director on projects as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of development and grant writing experience
- Strong interest in bringing arts education to in-need communities
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Google Drive, Microsoft Word, Excel/Google Sheets, and Zoom
- Proficiency in SalesForce and Constant Contact a plus
- GlobalGiving / Network for Good / Every.org experience (or similar platforms)
- Ability to work in a team, as well as ability to prioritize work and time manage while working independently
- Degree in Arts Management, Non-Profit Management, or Fundraising preferred
- Spanish/other language skills
Compensación
This position is a W-2 role, and is eligible for paid sick time. In addition, after 6 months of employment, this position is eligible for 2 weeks of paid vacation, as well as a QSEHRA plan to be used towards health and medical expenses.
