Camp Counselor

Responsibilities

• Engage children and their families in a variety of camp activities, including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor adventures.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by maintaining vigilant supervision and adhering to safety protocols.
• Manage group behavior through positive reinforcement, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies.
• Assist with daily routines such as mealtimes, and transitions between activities.
• Support campers with special needs or behavioral challenges by applying inclusive teaching methods and childhood development principles.
• Collaborate with fellow staff members to plan and execute age-appropriate programming that promotes teamwork and personal growth.
• Provide basic first aid when necessary and communicate effectively with parents or guardians about camper progress or concerns.
