    Description:

    The Juilliard Health Services Medical Assistant is a key position supporting Juilliard’s commitment to the health and wellness of our talented performing arts college students. The Medical Assistant assists with both clinical and administrative duties of the Health Services office. This is a full-time, in-person position Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

    Salary range: $52-$55K annually

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Work under medical supervision of clinic PA/NP and Medical Director
    • Prepare patients for examination by greeting and interviewing patient, confirming purpose of visit, taking blood pressure, weight and temperature as appropriate
    • Prepare patients for small procedures, GYN exams and physicals, and appointments with medical staff and on-site consulting physicians. Provide general assistance during these procedures/exams
    • Maintain clean clinical conditions in lab and exam rooms throughout operation hours
    • Perform venipuncture and finger sticks as needed
    • Complete lab requisitions, send labs out daily and print lab results for medical providers
    • Perform EKG and other diagnostic tests such as blood glucose, pregnancy and urinalysis
    • Place supply orders, maintain accurate medical supply inventory and monitor expiration dates of all supplies. Work with clinicians regarding clinic inventory needs
    • Perform CLIA/DOH required lab equipment maintenance tests and maintain CLIA maintenance logs under supervision of lab director.
    • Review all new student Health Forms ensuring that immunization and other requirements are met and communicates with students. Maintain accurate data for immunization compliance and new student health chart requirements. Maintain accurate immunization data base
    • Provide front desk coverage when Administrative Assistant is away, or as needed. This includes welcoming patients, scheduling appointments, answering phones and responding to emails.
    • Assist with other projects as needed

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Certified Medical Assistant
    • Work effectively as part of a team, supporting medical staff and fostering a positive working environment
    • Minimum of three years’ experience
    • Experience with medical supply purchasing
    • Experience with online lab ordering and electronic practice managements systems/EHR
    • Administrative skills/experience
    • Skills needed include: vital signs, phlebotomy, EKG, diagnostic testing
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    Preferred Background:

    • Experience working in an adolescent/young adult practice preferred
    • Experience working in a GYN practice helpful
