    Overview

    We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Behavioral Health expert (must be a BCBA or LCSW) to lead our clinical team in delivering exceptional behavioral care in the autism and I/DD space. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee comprehensive behavioral health services, including participant assessment, crisis intervention, and case management. The ideal candidate will be passionate about improving lives through evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing and applied behavior analysis. As a leader in the organization, you will foster a collaborative environment that emphasizes patient-centered care, cultural competence, and clinical excellence. This paid position is integral to advancing our mission of providing accessible, high-quality behavioral health services across diverse populations. Must have 5-8 years experience as this is a director level position and will have to have complete ownership of admissions, clinical management, behavioral plans, assessments, service plan renewals, outreach, and discharges. The ideal candidate will need to have experience with residential programs as well.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team in the NJ DDD approved Day habilitation program.
    • Oversee intake processes, client assessments, diagnostic evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical best practices.
    • Manage crisis intervention efforts and crisis management protocols to ensure safety and effective resolution during emergencies.
    • Coordinate group sessions, social work activities, and specialized programs for individuals with neurodevelopmental differing abilities, including autism.
    • Ensure accurate documentation within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards. The agency uses THERAP.
    • Facilitate clinical supervision, staff training, and ongoing professional development to uphold high standards of patient care and behavioral management.
    • Collaborate with families, community partners, and other healthcare providers to support holistic client care and promote positive outcomes.
    • Maintain data collection for research purposes or quality improvement initiatives related to mental health and behavioral care.
    • Admissions and Discharges- clinician will take the lead on both and it must timely.
    • Compliance with NJ DDD regulations in regards to ISP, Behavioral Support Plans, and Staff Development.
    • Clinician will work closely with the Human Rights Committee and NJ DDD.
    • Clinician must be confident in presenting data and KPI's to the Executive Director on a monthly basis.
    • Clinician must have excellent communication skills with families, vendors, community partners, group homes, and other social services organizations.

    Experience

    • Proven management experience leading clinical teams within behavioral health or mental health settings.
    • Extensive background working with children, adolescents, adults, and diverse cultural backgrounds in community or hospital environments.
    • Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), motivational interviewing, psychotherapy, etc.
    • Strong knowledge of clinical records management and electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems.
    • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities- specifically with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and creating robust, person-centered behavioral plans.
    • Skilled in crisis management techniques including crisis intervention strategies for mental health crises or emergency situations.
    • Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to behavioral health services; experience in NJ DDD approved day habilitation programs and/or residential group homes for autistic adults required.
    • Will lead the Admissions and Discharges process for the agency.
    • Must be a BCBA or LCSW. Candidates without these credentials WILL NOT be considered. Proof of active licensure will be required if offered the position.
