At YMCA of the Rockies – Snow Mountain Ranch, your work directly supports a mission-driven retreat center and residential camp that welcomes more than 50,000 guests each year. As an HVAC Technician, you’ll be responsible for keeping our mountain community comfortable, safe, and running smoothly in every season.
From guest lodges to conference spaces to residential facilities, your expertise ensures that heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems operate reliably in a high-demand, high-impact environment surrounded by Rocky Mountain beauty.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be the hands-on expert ensuring our facilities stay operational year-round. Your work will include:
- Installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing HVAC systems across the property
- Troubleshooting heating, cooling, refrigeration, and mechanical systems
- Performing preventive maintenance and routine inspections on HVAC equipment
- Repairing and servicing systems quickly and efficiently, including emergency calls
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Balancing air and water treatment systems to ensure peak system performance
- Keeping accurate maintenance logs and service records
- Ensuring compliance with safety standards and Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Providing technical guidance and on-the-job support to team members
- Supporting general Buildings and Grounds maintenance when needed
- Assisting with guest questions and maintaining a helpful, service-oriented presence

- Systems running efficiently across all facilities, regardless of season
- Fast, effective response to maintenance issues and emergencies
- Preventive maintenance completed on schedule with minimal disruptions
- Safe, compliant, and reliable mechanical systems throughout the property
- A collaborative approach that supports both guests and internal teams
What You Bring
- 1+ year of HVAC technician experience, with a willingness to continue growing your skills
- EPA 608 certification (required)
- Strong understanding of heating, cooling, refrigeration, and boiler systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical plans
- Experience with air and water balancing in HVAC systems
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills in a variety of mechanical systems
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively in emergency situations
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
Work Environment
- High-energy maintenance environment with frequent interruptions
- High noise levels typical of facilities operations work
- Physical work requiring climbing, lifting, movement between buildings, and time in mechanical spaces
- On-call rotation (including at least one night per week if living on property)
