AIUSA’s Movement Building and Member Engagement Department (MBME) brings together grassroots members, activists, and leaders, and incorporates technology through distributed leadership to create lasting change. AIUSA works though grassroots development and leadership, partnership and coalition building, education and training, data analysis, and storytelling to build our movement for human rights domestically, connected to the international movement for human rights. Movement building is the key for sustainable change for the human rights movement, and AIUSA seeks leaders who can activate and collaborate with grassroots leaders who can play their part to create lasting change. Shared leadership is the process by which AIUSA volunteer leaders and staff together guide AIUSA. Our shared leadership guidelines encompass core principles, values, accountability, and communication, along with core principles that serve as the foundation to support AIUSA’s human rights work.
The Manager, Regional Mobilization (“Manager”) - South (2 Year Fixed Term) implements AIUSA's grassroots mobilization, activism, and movement building strategy in a regional perspective across our 5 member types (local groups, student groups, task forces, member leaders, and digital activists) advancing a unified movement strategy aligned with AIUSA's strategic priorities, and in support of an international human rights movement. The South region encompasses Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, and Tennessee.
The Manager trains and develops AIUSA’s activist leaders, partnering with them to build an organized member-led movement. The Manager serves as a key leader in Amnesty’s movement building efforts, cultivating and sustaining grassroots people power, by managing the day-to-day regional activism operations.
