    Full-time (40 hours/week); exempt; hybrid (primarily remote with some in-person requirements)

    Compensation:

    $61,000 per year (salaried)

    Juntos para Jóvenes: United for Youth -- Overview of Project and Position Description

    SPANISH FLUENCY IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION.

    This project offers direct case management services to newcomer immigrant youth and their families, helping them overcome barriers to self-sufficiency. We address various basic needs, including but not limited to::

    • Mental health treatment
    • Health insurance access
    • Food security
    • Housing security
    • Landlord/tenant issues
    • Immigration legal services

    Responsibilities

    • SPANISH FLUENCY IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION.
    • Continually improve an initial social service screening assessment.
    • Update a Community Resource Guide.
    • Work one-on-one with clients to provide initial assessment; identify primary barriers to self-sufficiency; create an individualized service plan to address those barriers; provide case management services based on that plan; conduct case closure at the end of services.
    • Make referrals to other services and programs within the agency and/or other community based services as applicable.
    • Accompany clients to off-site appointments, or other supports based on identified barriers and emergent needs
    • Maintain regular contact with clients via phone, virtual appointments, or other online communication platforms.
    • Maintain complete, thorough, and timely case noting and reporting on the designated database system, per program and agency requirements.
    • Organize and facilitate at least three self-sufficiency workshops per year on various topics such as homeownership, financial literacy, healthcare, or taxes.
    • Collaborate with service providers, community organizations, and government agencies to identify service gaps and ensure maximum impact with limited resources; and
    • Advocate against structural barriers in government systems that hinder self-sufficiency.
    • Use in-person and telephonic interpretation whenever needed to communicate effectively with clients.
    • Actively participate in supervision, weekly case meetings, and other department, agency, community, and provider meetings as needed.
    • Identify and attend regular conferences and training opportunities as relevant for the work.
    • Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.

    Qualifications

    • SPANISH FLUENCY IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION.
    • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the desire to serve diverse populations
    • Prior experience with case management strongly preferred
    • Strong written and oral communication, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving
    • Ability to communicate effectively through a 3rd party interpreter required.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, database management and internet
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to work in a team and with diverse professionals and human service workers
    • Ability to pay close attention to detail
    • Valid driver’s license required

    • Experience working in a nonprofit setting with immigrant communities preferred.

    Setting

    Primarily remote position with some in person requirements. Must have your own car/transportation and be located in the Greater Philadelphia Area.

    Schedule

    • This will be an at-will position with Project Libertad. This means that employment is not for any specified period of time and the employment relationship can be ended by either the employee or Project Libertad at any time and for any reason without prior notice. Nothing contained in this offer or other communication from Project Libertad creates or implies an employment contract for any specific period of time.
    • This position is made possible by specific grant funding and is contingent upon continued grant funding.
    • Employee works remotely with some in-person requirements and will mutually agree upon hours with employer.
    • 40 hours per week

    Training and Supervision

    • Complete standard volunteer training and obtain/maintain all required clearances and certifications.
    • Receive orientation to Volunteer Coordinator job.
    • Ongoing training and supervision with supervisor on a minimum of a weekly basis.

    Required Clearances

    Employee must complete and maintain all required clearances (FBI, PA Child Abuse, and PA Criminal Record).
