    Descripción

If you love organizing data, enjoy building relationships, and can imagine finding joy in helping people help animals, then this position could be the perfect match for you.

We’re looking for someone to take on the responsibility of one of the pillars of our international organization – fundraising. It is a vital part of organization building, designed to make it easy for regular people to make a difference in the lives of animals by supporting effective organizations who fight for them.

This role will largely be based on marketing, data organization and relationship building. You will be responsible for developing our international fundraising area of work, including day to day grant and donor management, as well as identifying new opportunities and strategies we should be pursuing.

You will search for tools, solutions, and opportunities to reach different groups of people in order to acquire new donors and grants. At the same time, you will work on building relationships with current donors and philanthropic foundations who believe in Anima International’s mission – creating a world free from animal suffering.

    What we offer

    • Meaningful work – you will help build a world free from animal suffering.
    • Time – you will be able to focus full-time on helping animals.
    • High degree of flexibility – much of the work is remote and you will organize your working hours and workflow yourself.
    • Trust – we expect you to make mistakes and use them as opportunities for growth.
    • Autonomy – you will experience freedom and independence in your decision-making and take responsibility for a part of the organization.
    • Transparency – you will have access to the work and decision-making of others.
    • Honest work culture – you will know what your colleagues are doing and what they really think.
    • Knowledge – you will learn and receive support from people who have been fighting for animals for many years.
    • Opportunity to grow – you will learn every day and be encouraged to experiment beyond your skill set.
    • Ability to influence the organization – we encourage our people to openly speak their mind, so you will be able to impact what kind of organization we are.
    • Laughter – activism can be dark at times, we think that having a fun atmosphere is key to balancing this.

    Salary and employment conditions:

    • Transparent, non-negotiable salary based on location. We aim for the salary base to be around the 55th percentile of salaries in your country (though it varies). For example, in the UK our base salary is GBP 36,954.48 gross/year and in Poland – PLN 6,385.24 gross/month.
    • +3% for each year of relevant prior experience
    • Annual increases: +7% first 5 years, +5% next 5 years, +3% next 5 years, +2% thereafter
    • Full employment contract with 3-month probation, then 12-month fixed-term, then permanent
    • Compensation for interviews and work trial

    What we require

    • Strong belief in the mission of our organization. Working for us should not be thought of as a ‘career step’. We want people who are motivated by our mission above all. However, you don’t need to be vegan or vegetarian. While all of our events provide only plant-based meals, we are open to anyone who wants to fight for a world that is free from animal suffering.
    • Fluency in English. Fluency in another European language will be an asset but is not required.
    • Flexible availability. While you will be able to decide your own work schedule, you must be comfortable working full-time (40 hours/week), part of which may take place during non-standard hours or weekends to accommodate differences in time zones, volunteer activists' operating hours, and unexpected events.
    • Ability to travel occasionally. We work remotely so we don’t often get the chance to see our colleagues in person. To remedy that, we hold team gatherings, organization-wide summits and participate in conferences together. We see these meetings as an important part of our work and a way to build a strong organization. In this role you may expect 1-2 trips per quarter on average (3-4 days each).
    • Alignment with our organizational culture. We value honest and direct communication. We expect you to treat others with respect, decency and compassion – even the occasional adversaries. We embrace mistakes as learning opportunities, and need people with a growth mindset, open to being proven wrong and changing their mind in light of new evidence. Activism is our passion and one of the main motivations in life. To fit our culture, you have to be proactive and enjoy work.
    • Ability and desire to solve problems independently. Working with us comes with a lot of autonomy, and responsibility. We’re looking for someone eager to deep-dive into important fundraising and donor management issues on their own, to understand and solve them.
    • Ability to work effectively within a team. A lot of autonomy does not equal working alone. We treat Anima International as one efficiently functioning organism, and we collaborate extensively across teams. We believe that we can achieve more by working together, rather than as individuals. Such an approach requires the ability to prioritize the organization and its mission above one’s ego, and “we” above “I”.
    • Excellent communication skills. An ability to present our work, strategy and vision in a clear and compelling way is fundamental for this position. You will be constantly putting this skill to use – from conversations with individual donors, to drafting reports for our biggest supporters.
    • Interpersonal and relationship building skills. Whether with donors, foundations, or individual supporters, your role will require you to build strong relationships with the people who support our work. Ideally, you will be someone who truly enjoys creating links with people.
    • Basic-level data analysis skills (or willingness to develop in this area). Data – both quantitative and qualitative – is one of our most important sources of information, allowing us to better understand the world. Your role will require you to organize, store and interpret all sorts of data to inform our decisions and fundraising strategies.

    What will you do?

    • Develop and implement Anima International’s fundraising strategy – you will be the main person responsible for creating our international fundraising strategy, from having the vision to creating the strategy and then putting it into practice.
    • Produce fundraising and donor management content – you will be responsible for creating social media assets, newsletters, communications and other content, as well as developing the thinking behind those activities.
    • Organize fundraising work – you will help us keep track of our work with philanthropic foundations, major donors and individual supporters.
    • Strengthen our international supporter base – you will help build our base of supporters, our brand and work to turn supporters into engaged donors.
    • Draft grant requests – as well as organizing grant requests for our six national organizations and international work, you will help draft our submissions, renewals and check-ins.
    • Identify new funding sources and opportunities – you will find new chances for like-minded supporters and philanthropic foundations to support our work.
    • Build relationships – you will be one of the main points of contact for philanthropic foundations, and so responsible for creating strong relationships with them.

    We can adapt to you

Due to the wide scope of our work, there is no simple description of the ideal employee. Perhaps there are some areas in which you are stronger than others, and we are open to adapting this position to some extent to fit you. However, there are certain traits that are a must:

    • You must be a highly conscientious person who enjoys getting stuck in to hard work
    • You must have strong organizational skills and not be afraid of using data
    • You must love people, enjoy talking to them and be able to find common ground with anyone.
    • You must have a naturally high tolerance for rejection.
    • Finally, you must either already have a passion for fundraising or be truly excited to take a deep dive down that rabbit hole

No previous experience is required for this role. While experience will be valued (and reflected in the salary), we welcome applications from both seasoned professionals and passionate newcomers who align with our organizational culture.

Worried you won’t make the cut?

We encourage you to apply anyway if you meet our basic requirements and find the role exciting. We value competence over credentials and use tests rather than first impressions. Our process is designed to be fair, minimize bias, and help you showcase your abilities.

We prepared support materials to help you progress through our recruitment process. We'll also be hosting webinars with live Q&A sessions to answer your questions.
