Senior Coordinator, Coalitions & Member Experience
Who we are:
Campus Compact is a national coalition of colleges and universities committed to the public purposes of higher education. As the largest national higher education association dedicated solely to higher education civic and community engagement, Campus Compact enables higher education institutions to develop students’ citizenship skills and forge effective community partnerships. Our resources support senior administrators, faculty, staff, and students as they pursue community-based teaching, scholarship, and action in the service of positive change.
Today, we stand at a defining moment: we are ready to scale our impact when the stakes for our work have never been higher. We know that higher education has a critical role to play in fostering democratic principles and culture by addressing polarization, strengthening civic participation, and ensuring students are prepared to navigate and shape our democracy. Thanks to the investment of philanthropic partners, Campus Compact is preparing for a period of significant growth and expansion, particularly in the areas of innovation, scaling, and coalition building.
About the role:
The Senior Coordinator, Coalitions and Member Experience is a member-facing execution role that supports coalition activity and the overall membership experience through responsive communication, sound judgment, and reliable follow-through. This role sits at the intersection of operations and relationships. It ensures that day-to-day work runs smoothly across the full member lifecycle, from onboarding and engagement to renewal. It is the operational backbone of the member experience domain, handling interactions with members with confidence and care, maintaining the systems and workflows that keep member-facing processes running seamlessly and escalating issues thoughtfully and strategically.
The ideal candidate brings relational experience, operational precision and strong communications skills to a role that is both externally engaged with our members, and operationally responsible. By ensuring consistent, high quality execution across member touchpoints, the Senior Coordinator role protects leadership capacity while strengthening trust with members.
Key Responsibilities:
Member-facing communication & support
- Serves as a primary point of contact for members on routine questions that come through general membership communication channels (e.g. generic email)
- Responds to inquiries with accuracy, context, and professionalism (not just triage)
- Discerns when issues require escalation versus resolution. Represents the organization consistently and well in day-to-day interactions
Coalition & network support
- Provides operational and communication support for coalitions, champions, and networks
- Coordinates logistics, communications, and follow-up for coalition activities
- Supports the Director in maintaining momentum and continuity across networks
Operational execution
- Manages the membership inbox, including response, routing, and follow-up
- Supports the onboarding of new members into the Campus Compact community by coordinating early experiences and a seamless integration that sets the foundation for successful engagement
- Supports the tracking and reporting of engagement activity to enable the team to identify trends, opportunities, and respond to the needs of the network
- Coordinates and maintains the operational infrastructure of the renewal process, including invoice workflows, internal payment tracking in coordination with Finance, and Salesforce record management
- Ensures member-facing processes feel seamless and intentional
Data execution & integrity
- Executes Salesforce data entry and hygiene (bulk uploads, contact updates, participation tracking)
- Ensures member interactions and engagement are accurately reflected in systems
- Flags data issues or inconsistencies to the Systems & Analytics role
Internal Coordination & Organizational Awareness.
- Develops an understanding of Campus Compact’s portfolio of programs, offerings and strategic priorities, serving as an informed, reliable bridge between the Membership team and the broader organization
- Supports the development of internal resources, shared timelines, and content, to foster organizational cohesion and information sharing
- Develops working knowledge of our member portfolio to serve as a resource for internal teams seeking to engage members
Leadership enablement
- Anticipates needs and prepares materials, follow-ups, and coordination support
- Handles day-to-day member conversations to free leadership for higher-stakes engagement
- Serves as a reliable extension of the Director in execution and communication
- Take on other responsibilities as needed and appropriate
