Opus Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper (3–5 years) to support financial operations for nonprofit, grant-funded youth and community programs.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in nonprofit bookkeeping, expense reporting, and government-funded program compliance, including familiarity with DYCD Connect, 21st CCLC invoicing, and PASSPORT systems.
Responsibilities
Maintain accounts payable and receivable records
Prepare and process expense reports in compliance with grant guidelines
Manage invoicing for 21st CCLC programs
Use DYCD Connect for budgeting and reporting
Maintain financial records in the PASSPORT system
Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow tracking
Assist with budget preparation and forecasting
Ensure audit-ready financial documentation
Support internal and external audits
Work with program staff on proper expense allocation
Requirements
3–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Experience with nonprofit or grant-funded programs preferred
Knowledge of expense reporting and financial reconciliation
Experience with DYCD Connect, 21st CCLC invoicing, PASSPORT (required)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
Must pass the New York City Department of Education fingerprinting
Must obtain SCR clearance
Must complete required medical clearance
