    Position Summary:

    The Executive Director provides visionary leadership and management to enhance QCC’s role as a beacon of light for our communities during a pivotal time in the U.S. LGBTQ movement’s history. This role stewards QCC’s resources, and safeguards its ability to fulfill its mission to promote social justice, and the artistic and financial development of queer art and culture.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Organizational Leadership and Operations:
      • Lead with trust and encourage staff development and mentorship.
      • Model collaborative and inclusive leadership with an awareness of repair and restoration.
      • Oversee the development of systems and processes that support staff and financial success.
      • Supervise and empower a team of three skilled staff and consultants by committing to creating annual goals and lines of communication.
      • Oversee HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluation processes.
      • Represent QCC in external meetings with the funders, partners, and artists.
    2. Fundraising and Marketing:
      • Create fund development strategies and lead fundraising efforts to ensure QCC’s sustainability into the future and increase funding diversity.
      • Build and maintain positive working relationships with private, family, and community foundations, government agencies, and individuals.
      • Oversee communications staff in executing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that enhances the organization’s visibility and reach.
      • Ensure all public-facing content aligns with the QCC’s mission and brand, while cultivating strong relationships with media outlets and community partners.
      • Supervise contract grant writer and staff on grant applications and reports.
    3. Financial Management:
      • Develop sound financial practices in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
      • With a contracted accountant, manage QCC's finances, including reviewing financial statements for accuracy and compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
      • Collaborate with the accountant and audit firm to complete the annual audit.
      • Oversee the management of funds for the Fiscal Sponsorship Program (FSP).
      • Ensure payment to vendors.
      • Refine and maintain QCC & FSP transaction and grant spending systems.
    4. Organizational Development:
      • Provide high-level visioning and solutions oriented leadership to inform the future of QCC’s programs, mission, and goals.
      • Lead the organization through the development of its next strategic framework and the implementation of existing organizational development initiatives.
      • Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors to ensure the organization meets its financial, programmatic, and legal obligations.
      • Support board meetings and activities, including regular financial and programmatic reporting to the board for quarterly board meetings.
      • Assess organizational capacity and make recommendations to ensure QCC effectively meets its mission.
    5. Program Oversight:
      • Provide strategic guidance and oversight for the organization's main programs: Creating Queer Communities and the National Queer Arts Festival.
      • Collaborate with program staff to ensure appropriate allocation of resources to support effective and impactful programming.
      • Develop, sustain, and find new opportunities for partnership and cross-collaborations to increase team capacity. E.g., universities, skilled volunteer organizations, and affinity groups within companies.

    Compensación

    Full coverage for health, dental, and vision insurance; PTO package including 9 days of sick leave, 12 days of paid vacation, 11 paid holidays, and 5 days of bereavement leave per year. Office closure for the last two weeks of the year. Eligible for 401k retirement plan with 3% employer contribution after 3 months.
