    Position Overview

The Program & Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of AWD’s programs, events, fellowships, and member services. This role ensures that workshops, mentorship initiatives, networking events, and educational programming are delivered smoothly and consistently while providing a high-quality experience for members, speakers, mentors, volunteers, and partners.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. They enjoy coordinating logistics, supporting creative communities, and bringing programs to life from prep through execution.

The Program & Operations Manager works closely with the Executive Director, who leads organizational strategy, fundraising, sponsorships, partnerships, and external relations, and the Operations Coordinator, who supports communications, event administration, and organizational operations. Together, this team ensures the successful delivery of AWD’s programs and services nationwide.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Program Management

    • Manage the day-to-day administration and implementation of AWD’s year-round programming, including fellowships, mentorship initiatives, workshops, panels, and networking events.

    • Track program participation, deadlines, and deliverables.
    • Support the launch and implementation of new programs developed by the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
    • Serve as the primary operational lead for AWD’s fellowship and cohort-based programs.
    • Represent AWD professionally and warmly while facilitating programs and serving as a point of contact for members, mentors, speakers, and participants.

    Event Management

    • Coordinate logistics for approximately 10 virtual and 4 in-person events each month.
    • Manage registration, attendee communications, event materials, Zoom administration, and post-event follow-up.
    • Support regional committees in producing events and programs across AWD’s growing national community.
    • Coordinate volunteers and event support teams.
    • Assist with logistics and execution for AWD’s annual conference and other major organizational initiatives.

    Membership & Community Support

    • As needed, assist membership onboarding, renewals, account updates, and member records.
    • As needed, facilitate communication of membership-related issues and ensure timely responses.
    • Support community engagement efforts and help foster a welcoming member experience.

    Organizational Operations

    • Maintain program records, participant databases, and reporting systems.
    • Track program timelines, deadlines, and organizational calendars.
    • Assist with fiscal sponsorship administration and tracking as the program continues to expand.
