Natick Service Council (NSC) is an independent nonprofit organization that collaborates with the community to support Natick neighbors facing financial hardship. We provide critical services including case management, access to food and clothing, financial assistance, employment support, and more. Job Title: Food Pantry Coordinator (Part-Time)
Organization: Natick Service Council
Location: Natick, MA
Pay Rate: $22–$25 per hour
Hours: 32 hours per week
Scheduled Hours:
- Monday- Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Thursday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Position Overview
The Food Pantry Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the pantry operates smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who is great with a diverse population of people, organized, dependable, and passionate about community service. The role requires working directly with clients and volunteers, hands-on work in pantry organization, food storage management, and overall facility upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
Food Pantry Greeter
Help ensure a positive and welcoming experience for our clients during their scheduled food pantry appointments.
- Ensure clients have a positive experience through clear communication and supportive interactions
- Answer questions and address any concerns about the pantry process or services
- Assist clients in booking future appointments using our Salesforce database, ensuring accurate data entry and scheduling
Additional Food Pantry Assistance
- Oversee the Home Delivery program to homebound clients who need monthly food assistance
- Perform daily pantry preparation to ensure readiness for distribution
- Manage cold storage products, ensuring proper rotation, labeling, and food safety compliance
- Help maintain a well-organized and clean pantry environment
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs as appropriate
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organization and time management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and volunteer or donor management software (Salesforce, etc.)
- Ability to lift and move boxes (up to 30–40 lbs)
- Comfortable working in cold storage environments as needed
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Prior experience in food service, warehouse, logistics, or nonprofit settings preferred but not required
- Commitment to treating all community members with dignity and respect
