If you're passionate about elevating resident voices and building authentic community power, keep reading. If you thrive on creating meaningful connections, organizing engaging events, and translating community vision into action, you are in the right place.

As Community Engagement Manager, you'll be the heartbeat of our community-driven initiative. You'll spearhead programs that foster connection—from working group meetings and anti-displacement campaigns to community BBQs and resident forums. Your creativity, organizational skills, and passion for equity will shine as you bring people together and translate community vision into action.

You'll manage all external communications (social media, newsletters, website), coordinate event logistics, build partnerships across sectors, and serve as the primary contact for residents and stakeholders. This is community organizing meets digital communications meets event management—all centered on equity and resident power.

    What You'll Do

    • Develop & coordinate community programs: working groups, anti-displacement campaigns, BBQs, forums—events that build connection and power
    • Create multi-format content: design graphics (Canva/Adobe), produce videos, write compelling copy for diverse audiences
    • Manage all communications: website, social media (using scheduling tools), monthly newsletter, promotional materials
    • Build partnerships: with residents, local organizations, businesses, and city agencies
    • Co-facilitate working groups: create inclusive spaces where residents shape strategy and make decisions
    • Coordinate event logistics: venues, vendors, materials, volunteers—everything to make programs successful
    • Track impact: attendance metrics, engagement analytics, community feedback, program outcomes
    • Support storytelling initiatives: podcast production or other audio/video projects that amplify community voices (nice to have)

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Architecture, Community Development, Public Administration, or related field
    • 2-3 years in community program coordination, organizing, or similar role
    • Strong organizational and project management skills—ability to juggle multiple initiatives
    • Hands-on content creation experience: graphics (Canva required, Adobe preferred), videos, written materials
    • Proficiency with social media scheduling tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, Meta Business Suite) and email platforms (Mailchimp,

    Constant Contact)

    • Excellent communication skills—can write compelling copy, design graphics, and engage diverse stakeholders
    • Experience working in/with communities of color and underserved neighborhoods
    • Creative problem-solver with genuine passion for community development
    • Atlanta area residency (proximity to Campbellton Road preferred)
    • Availability for 4 days/week in-office and regular evening/weekend events

    Nice to Have:

    • Podcast production or audio/video editing experience
    • Website content management and photography skills

    What Success Looks Like

After one year: trusted relationships with residents and leaders, thriving community leadership council, 12+ successful events, robust communications with consistent engagement, and clear pathways for residents to shape the initiative.
