    The Lymphoma Research Foundation (the Foundation) seeks a Director of Institutional and Community Partnerships to join the Strategic Partnerships Department. Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships, this is a pivotal new role that is responsible for the acquisition and cultivation of external partners for the Foundation to increase program participation and community engagement.

    The Foundation is the nation’s largest non-profit organization devoted to funding innovative research and serving the lymphoma community through a comprehensive series of education programs, outreach initiatives, and patient services. The Foundation’s mission is to realize the promise of science to eradicate lymphoma and serve the community impacted by the disease. With the guidance of a prestigious Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), the Foundation invests in the research and scientists which have the greatest potential to improve our understanding of lymphomas and lead to improved treatment options for patients. To date, the Foundation has funded more than $82.7 million in research focused on the origins and treatment of lymphoma.

    Through comprehensive disease guides and publications, in-person conferences, and online resources, the Foundation provides education for people with lymphoma, as well as their loved ones and care partners. A robust suite of patient services provides direct support to people who have received a lymphoma diagnosis. An industry leader in digital communications, the Foundation maintains a strong presence on multiple social media platforms and has won national awards for its innovative use of social media to educate cancer patients. The Foundation also provides a wide range of continuing medical education programs designed to increase the knowledge, skills and performance of healthcare professionals who treat and care for people with lymphoma.

    About the Opportunity

    The Director of Institutional and Community Partnerships is a leadership role that will serve as the primary point of contact for partners and will steward activities internally. This position will focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with diverse medical institutions and community agencies to support the Foundation’s programs and events in key markets and nationally. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and independent thinker with a background in healthcare provider engagement and institutional partnerships, as well as past experience leading outreach to diverse populations. The position is based in the Foundation’s New York City office; please note that the organization currently utilizes a flex schedule, and all New York-based staff are required to work in the Foundation office weekly Tuesday-Thursday; staff may elect to work remotely Mondays and Fridays. This role is an exempt, full-time position with a salary range of $95,000 to $110,000 annually.

    Responsibilities

    • Identify, secure, and cultivate strategic partnerships with academic and community medical institutions and local community agencies in key priority markets nationwide
    • Gain and maintain a deep understanding of all Foundation programs, services, events, and volunteer opportunities
    • Be a thought-partner in the development of a comprehensive community outreach plan to increase awareness about the Foundation and increase engagement with patient, care partner, survivor, and physician audiences
    • Working closely with the Programs, Marketing, and Development departments, engage with constituents at in-person and virtual Foundation events to increase utilization of Foundation resources
    • Manage on-going relationships with medical centers, hospitals, clinics, and community agencies and identify additional opportunities for partnership, including sponsorship opportunities
    • Identify and represent the Foundation at relevant outreach opportunities to highlight Foundation programs and services, including, but not limited to, community events, health resource fairs and engagement events at medical institutions and local nonprofit agencies serving the community
    • Lead site visits at existing and prospective partner locations and deliver informative presentations on a regular basis introducing the Foundation and its programming to diverse audiences
    • Serve as a Foundation representative during pharmaceutical industry partner meetings and events and assist the Senior Director with fundraising and grant writing and reconciliation
    • Assist with the development of budgets for departmental activities
    • Conduct prospect research of potential partners and develop background reports and presentation materials for the Senior Director
    • Oversee the planning and execution of the Foundation’s Annual Reception during the American Society of Hematology’s Annual Meeting
    • Working with the Marketing and Communications team, curate the Foundation’s From the Field e-newsletter for lymphoma researchers and healthcare providers
    • Document all outreach and engagement activity outcomes within the Foundation’s CRM database and create monthly KPI reports
    • Identify new partner targets and creative strategies to accomplish goals
    • Other duties as assigned

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Bachelor's ’s degree required in public health, health education, nursing, communications, social work, psychology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred
    • At least five years of professional work experience in a related position, conducting warm and cold outreach and securing on-going partnerships, ideally within the healthcare sector
    • Demonstrated experience in effectively managing a portfolio of diverse partnerships, with a proven ability to meet goals and benchmarks
    • High degree of professionalism and relationship-building skills, with empathy for all stakeholders and the ability to influence and align staff at all levels at partner organizations
    • Excellent verbal, written, public speaking, and interpersonal communication skills, comfortable developing slide decks and presenting to key decision-makers and executive leadership in a compelling and effective manner
    • Experience successfully managing and building effective internal working relationships with cross-functional teams
    • Can demonstrate compassion, patience, and understanding with cancer patients and care partners
    • Interest in learning about lymphoma/chronic lymphocytic leukemia and oncology
    • Comfortable traveling 40%-60% to events and institutions primarily focused on priority markets across the country
    • Knowledge of non-profit sector/health-oriented organizations a plus
    • Knowledge of common Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems, such as Raiser’s Edge
    • Own a valid Driver’s License and able to lift up to 20lbs
