    Our Bilingual Domestic Violence Program (BDVP) provides advocacy, counseling, education, and housing support services to victims of domestic violence and their children. Along with 3 other domestic violence agencies, BDVP runs Philadelphia's 24-hour domestic violence hotline.

    Scope of the position:

    BDVP’s Housing Program provides trauma-informed advocacy, flexible financial assistance, and community engagement to promote housing stability for survivors of domestic violence. Under the supervision of the BDVP Assistant Program Director, the Continuum of Care (COC) Housing Case Manager will implement the Pathways to Independence for Survivors of Domestic Violence program funded through the COC Grant. The Case Manager will maintain a client caseload of approximately 20-25 and collaborate closely with BDVP staff to deliver comprehensive support services.

    This is a grant-funded position scheduled to end on June 30, 2027. The position is currently hybrid, requiring at least three days per week in the office following the 90-day probationary period. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required for programming, with flex time provided in return.

    Specific tasks include:

    • Ensure that all program operations of the Office of Homeless Services’ (OHS) Pathways to Independence for Survivors of DV Program under the COC Grant are met, including needs assessments, client intake, safety planning, fund distribution, and required reporting.
    • Conduct regular client and program progress reviews with the housing team and during weekly supervision with the Assistant Director.
    • Provide regular case management services to help households link to necessary support services including DV Counseling, public benefits, housing counseling, financial literacy programs, childcare support, job search services, and legal services.Refer households in need of intensive or long-term services to the appropriate resources.
    • Co-facilitate the Economic Justice Support Group for survivors of domestic violence, including participants receiving COC-funded assistance.
    • Attend biweekly BDVP team staff meetings.
    • Develop Self-Sufficiency/Housing Stabilization Plans with households receiving financial assistance.
    • Participate in housing support learning communities both internal to LSH, and more broadly across the city, state, and country.
    • Provide a minimum of 4 hours per month of hotline counseling on the Philadelphia Domestic Violence Hotline (PDVH). Provide intake and walk-in coverage as needed.
    • Other duties as requested by the BDVP Program Director and Assistant Director.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in social work or related field required; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • The individual is expected to demonstrate understanding of the dynamics of homelessness and domestic violence, knowledge of community resources, and sensitivity to the needs of high risk populations and their families.
    • Applicant must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and must be organized.
    • This position includes some travel and requires completion of a 40-hour domestic violence training – to be provided by LSH.
    • Candidates who are Bilingual Spanish/English are highly preferred compensated commensurately.

    Proficient in English (reading/writing/verbal communication), Bilingual English and Spanish preferred. Bilingual hires compensated commensurately.
