Pandrillus Cameroon is looking for a creative, driven Fundraising and Communications Manager/Officer to help sustain and grow the funding that keeps one of Central Africa's best known wildlife rescue centres running - and to help finance an exciting new chapter, including a major new wildlife rehabilitation project within Mount Cameroon National Park.

You will lead our fundraising and communications work: managing existing funder relationships, identifying and applying for new grants, and telling the story of LWC's work to donors, supporters, and the wider conservation community. This is a hands-on, varied role with real impact - every grant secured directly funds the care of 360 rescued animals and the livelihoods of 50+ staff.

About the Limbe Wildlife Centre (LWC)

Established in 1993, LWC is a collaborative project between the Government of Cameroon (Ministry of Forests & Wildlife, MINFOF) and the NGO Pandrillus Cameroon. Located within the Limbe Zoological Garden, we serve as a vital sanctuary for approximately 360 animals including critically endangered gorillas, chimpanzees, drills, and red-capped mangabeys. Our conservation education programme reaches more than 2,000 children each year. Our mission is to protect Cameroonian wildlife through animal care and rehabilitation, conservation education, and community engagement.

It is an exciting time for LWC. The Mount Cameroon Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Project – a major new forested field site within Mount Cameroon National Park – is in active development and will open new opportunities for fundraising, species recovery, and long-term conservation impact.

Role Overview

The Fundraising and Communications Manager will develop and implement fundraising and communications, manage the grants pipeline, write proposals, and lead LWC's donor and media communications. The role works closely with the Country Director and General Manager and coordinates any fundraising officers or volunteers.

• Key collaborative staff: General Manager, Head Vet, Head of Education, Fundraising volunteers

Key Responsibilities

1. Grant Fundraising

• Research, identify and apply for grants from foundations, trusts, institutional funders, and government sources.
• Work with the Country Director to develop and write high-quality grant proposals.
• Maintain the grants pipeline and tracking records; ensure all reporting deadlines are met.
• Cultivate and steward relationships with existing and prospective institutional funders, providing high-quality communication and reporting.

1. Individual Giving & Campaigns

• Plan and deliver fundraising campaigns, including online giving days and year-round individual donor stewardship.
• Manage relationships with major individual donors and develop new HNW supporter connections.
• Explore and develop corporate partnerships and ambassador/supporter relations.

1. Communications

• Lead production of the quarterly newsletter and annual report.
• Manage and develop LWC's social media presence and website.
• Produce engaging content (written, photo, video) that communicates LWC's mission and impact.
• Act as an LWC ambassador with media, event partners, and supporters.

1. Programme Support

• Manage the foreign volunteer programme as a fundraising and community asset.
• Track and evaluate the impact of fundraising efforts and report results to management.
• Assist the Country Director and General Manager with annual reports and other communications as requested.

Skills, Experience and Requirements

• Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or communications (charity, NGO, or conservation sector preferred; transferable skills from other sectors considered).
• Experience of writing successful grant proposals, or strong evidence of transferable research and writing skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across cultures and with diverse stakeholders.
• Creative, organised, and able to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
• Proficiency in social media, digital communications, and MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; French is a plus.
• Background in conservation, marketing, or communications preferred.
• Passion for wildlife conservation and genuine commitment to LWC's mission.
• Minimum commitment of one year; two years strongly preferred.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a hot, humid tropical climate.

• Full-time position (5.5 days per week).
• Accommodation in Limbe (shared house with cleaning and security staff).
• All reasonable living expenses covered, including a daily local allowance, phone/data credit, and one meal per workday.
• Monthly stipend negotiable, commensurate with experience.
• Performance bonus potential, linked to fundraising outcomes.
• 21 working days annual leave.
• Annual return flight to home country (after one year of service, up to USD 1,000).
• Some flexibility on time split between Cameroon and home country is negotiable for the right candidate.
