We do three things: launch new working class organizing projects from scratch, train people in the fundamentals of the craft of organizing and a return to common sense non-academic language, and help working class people tell their own story.
About Players Alliance
We are an alliance of gamers, developers, and creators who believe that passion, not profits, should be at the heart of gaming. Our movement is fighting to take back the gaming industry from corporate giants and the executives who benefit from price gouging us, and end the exploitative practices that are killing games and impacting game quality. We are taking traditional organizing and experimenting with new strategies to build grassroots gamer power.
Position Summary
The Player's Alliance is seeking an experienced Gamer Content Manager to lead content and digital strategy for campaigns organizing gamers. The Gamer Content Manager will oversee social media strategy and lead content creation operations, while building relationships with aligned content creators and streamers to help spread pro-gamer campaigns across gaming communities. The Gamer Content Manager should be deeply familiar with video game culture, online trends, and creator-driven content, with experience developing digital strategy, managing social media platforms, planning content, and executing digital campaigns that move audiences to take action.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead digital and content strategy including managing existing Instagram, Tiktok, Youtube, X, BlueSky, and other social media platforms, including day-to-day platform management, content planning, posting, and performance tracking.
- Develop and produce regular digital content with creators and members to grow account audiences, increase engagement, and advance campaign messaging.
- Build effective pathways that move social media engagement into campaign participation and offline action, including Discord recruitment, email list-building, petitions, event sign-ups, and other campaign actions.
- Identify, recruit, and manage relationships with video game content creators, influencers, and streamers across audience sizes to expand campaign reach and amplify messaging.
- Support a creator working group that develops member and creator-led content while ensuring content creation remains cohesive and connected to broader campaign and organizing goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficiency in video editing and graphic design, including experience with Adobe Creative Suite or comparable editing and design tools
- Experience drafting social media copy, video scripts, emails, and other public-facing content.
- Strong understanding of fast-changing gaming culture, online trends, and social media algorithms
- Strong judgment, discretion, and reliability
- Experience helping people uncover, organize, and tell their stories
- Comfort working in evolving, startup-like environments
- Demonstrate deep commitment to racial, gender, and economic justice
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and judgment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong, plainspoken communicator able to write clearly and persuasively for public audiences without jargon
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable keeping complex work simple, structured, and actionable
- Proactive and reliable with the judgement to anticipate needs and solve problems independently
- Motivated by advocacy and working-class community outcomes
- Expertise and strong working knowledge of Youtube, Instagram, Tiktok, X, BlueSky, and other emerging social media platforms
- Experience identifying, pitching, and building relationships with content creators, influencers, streamers, and online gaming communities
