    Seeking: Director

    Location: Kathmandu, Nepal

    Start Date: Ideally August 2025

    Reports to: Founder and Board

Sattya Media Arts Collective is looking for a Director to lead us into our next chapter.

Sattya has been a creative home for Kathmandu’s artists, makers, and storytellers since 2011. After a quiet few years, we’re building back with strong roots and fresh energy. We have active programs, passionate volunteers, and real momentum. Now we’re looking for someone to help guide this growth and make Sattya strong and sustainable for the long term.

As Director, you’ll lead the big picture. You’ll shape vision and strategy, support our team, guide priorities, and focus on financial sustainability through both income generation and fundraising. You’ll work closely with the founder and alongside the Operations Manager, who is already managing daily operations.

This is a leadership role for someone who can see the whole, connect the pieces, and help a creative ecosystem thrive.

    Your Responsibilities

    Lead the Big Picture

    • Guide Sattya’s overall direction across programs, spaces, and community impact
    • Work closely with the founder to set priorities and make strategic decisions
    • Support and mentor team members so they grow with the organization
    • Spot gaps, needs, and opportunities, and take initiative to move things forward

    Support and Strengthen the Team

    • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to keep the team organized, clear, and aligned
    • Build systems that support staff, interns, and volunteers
    • Help shape a healthy, creative, and collaborative team culture

    Make Sattya Sustainable

    • Lead efforts to raise funds through grants, sponsorships, and partnerships
    • Grow income through programs, services, and creative initiatives
    • Track budgets and ensure financial health for long-term sustainability

    Represent and Build Relationships

    • Represent Sattya in the local and international community
    • Build and maintain relationships with partners, funders, media, and collaborators
    • Be a strong, authentic voice for Sattya’s mission and values

    Who We’re Looking For

    • You’ve led creative or community-centered teams or projects
    • You’re strategic, but also practical and action-oriented
    • You know how to fund and sustain an organization
    • You’re good at working with people, mentoring teams, and building relationships
    • You care deeply about Sattya’s mission and want to help shape its future
    • You’re a clear communicator, flexible thinker, and motivated doer

This is a role for someone who wants to build something lasting and meaningful, not just manage what’s already there.
