    Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

    This position is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Applicants must be available to interview at our Administrative Offices, no travel reimbursements are available.

    The Director of Operations is a member of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for carrying out Bethesda Project’s mission through business operations. This position carries significant decision-making, supervisory, and administrative responsibilities.

    Major Responsibilities

    • Serve as in-house financial point person and primary liaison for outsourced accounting and finance services and commercial banking, including: participation in weekly update meetings, monitoring cash flow and transferring funds as needed, approving bill payments, completing remote check deposits for contributions and shelter savings program, issuing manual checks as needed, managing users in the corporate credit card account, and reviewing contract invoices prepared by accounting staff prior to submission.
    • Provide oversight of repair and maintenance needs at seven Bethesda Project residential sites.
    • Manage and monitor compliance of required reporting, registrations, and renewals, including, but not limited to, charitable organization status filings, demographic surveys, and reporting for the state of Pennsylvania and the City of Philadelphia.
    • Oversee the annual renewal process for Bethesda Project’s commercial insurance policies and serve as point person for any commercial insurance claims that arise throughout the plan year.
    • Research, analyze, and recommend cost saving measures related to vendors and contracts for utilities, maintenance, services, operating and office supplies, etc.

    Skill/Educational Requirements

    • Master’s degree or equivalent experience, preferred;
    • Minimum of 3 years of management and/or supervisory experience;
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; computer literacy;
    • Ability to identify operations deficiencies/strengths and facilitate necessary change; and
    • Ability to work effectively with others in a supervisory capacity.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to travel to multiple Bethesda Project sites.
    • Requires repetitive movement of hands and fingers for typing and/or writing.
    • Frequent standing, sitting, walking and climbing stairs, occasional stooping, kneeling or crouching
    • Lifting up to 20lbs.
    • Ability to reach with hands and arms and perform audio and visual assessments, as required.
