Almost a quarter of bumblebee species are at risk of going extinct, including the American bumblebee. A major threat to their survival is a class of pesticides called neonics, which are now being used to coat seeds. We know the chemical industry is working hard to keep these pesticides in use, so that’s why in our Denver office, we're working to support a ban on seeds that are coated with these toxic pesticides.
In order to stop seeds from being coated in bee-killing pesticides, we are hiring canvassers and field managers to educate the public about the issue, raise critical funds, and generate the visibility necessary to influence decision-makers.
