    Description

Work to protect the bees in our canvassing and field manager positions.

Almost a quarter of bumblebee species are at risk of going extinct, including the American bumblebee. A major threat to their survival is a class of pesticides called neonics, which are now being used to coat seeds. We know the chemical industry is working hard to keep these pesticides in use, so that’s why in our Denver office, we're working to support a ban on seeds that are coated with these toxic pesticides.

In order to stop seeds from being coated in bee-killing pesticides, we are hiring canvassers and field managers to educate the public about the issue, raise critical funds, and generate the visibility necessary to influence decision-makers.

    As a canvasser you will:

    • Educate and engage citizens on a campaign to make real change on pressing environmental and public interest issues
    • Develop essential communication and political advocacy skills
    • Build membership and raise money for nonprofit groups in your community
    • Earn leadership opportunities, supervising and managing staff in the field
    • Gain the experience and connections needed to launch your career in nonprofit and policy work

At Fund for the Public Interest, we are seeking hard-working individuals with good communication skills and a passion for social change to fill citizen outreach and field manager positions. We are hiring full-time and part-time staff and have leadership opportunities available.

    Benefits:

    • Medical, dental and vision insurance for employees and dependents
    • Commuter benefit program
    • 401(k) with employer match
    • Paid time off
    • Excellent training program
    • Opportunities for advancement
    • Eligibility for benefits depends on your position, location, duration of employment, and other factors.

Pay: Average of $18.81 - $28.81 per hour

Fund for the Public Interest is an equal opportunity employer.
