    Summary:

    The Warehouse Analyst at Foothill Unity Center, Inc. plays a key leadership role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant operation of the organization’s warehouse across all service locations. This position oversees all warehouse logistics – including inventory management, food and in-kind donation processing, and support for major client distribution events – while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory standards (e.g. USDA/TEFAP and OSHA requirements). The Warehouse Analyst supervises the Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Assistant, providing guidance and oversight to warehouse staff and volunteers. Working closely with volunteers, partner agencies, and program staff, the Warehouse Analyst ensures that all goods are stored, tracked, and distributed in alignment with the Center’s mission to serve low-income and unhoused individuals with dignity and compassion. This role also leverages data and reporting to drive continuous improvement in warehouse processes and program outcomes, enhancing the Center’s capacity to serve the community.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Directly supervise the Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Assistant. Provide clear direction, ongoing training, performance feedback, and maintain a positive, collaborative team environment.
    • Oversee all USDA/TEFAP inventory requirements. Ensure accurate Certification of Eligibility sign-in logs for participants. Complete and submit monthly inventory and distribution reports to the LA Regional Food Bank.
    • Maintain pest control records, temperature logs, signage, and food safety checklists to meet USDA requirements. Act as primary contact during audits or inspections.
    • Develop, implement, and enforce OSHA-compliant safety protocols.
    • Maintain safety training records, ensure staff and volunteers use proper PPE, and enforce safe use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
    • Conduct regular safety reviews and address any hazards promptly.
    • Lead planning and logistics for major annual events such as Back to School, Holiday Distribution, Thanksgiving Distribution, and Operation Gobble with Assembly Member Blanca Rubio. Coordinate inventory needs, staging, volunteer support, and day-of-event execution to ensure safe, efficient, and client-focused service delivery.
    • Order and maintain supplies for all locations (Pasadena and Monrovia). Track usage and inventory levels, forecast needs, and coordinate with vendors for timely, cost-effective purchasing. Ensure essential items are available for daily operations and special events.
    • Coordinate all food recovery pickups and deliveries, including scheduling with partners such as the LA Regional Food Bank and Food Forward.
    • Ensure timely, efficient, and safe transportation of food donations, and manage inbound and outbound logistics with drivers and volunteers.
    • Ensure all recovered food is accurately weighed, documented, and reported. Maintain detailed logs to meet partner and grant reporting requirements. Work to maximize food rescue efforts while maintaining food safety standards.
    • Oversee accurate inventory tracking using established systems. Ensure FIFO (First-In, First-Out) rotation practices, conduct regular counts, and reconcile discrepancies. Supervise staff in proper storage practices for dry goods, refrigerated, and frozen items.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe warehouse environment. Enforce proper waste disposal, pest control, and sanitation practices. Ensure that food safety guidelines are consistently met.
    • Ensure proper use and maintenance of forklifts, electric pallet jacks, refrigerated units, and delivery vehicles. Schedule and track routine maintenance, maintain certification records for operators, and address any operational issues promptly.
    • Coordinate with program staff and leadership to align warehouse operations with distribution schedules, partner needs, and client services. Support organizational goals by providing timely, accurate, and efficient logistics support.
    • Perform additional tasks and projects related to warehouse operations or organizational goals as directed by the Director of Programs or other management staff.

    Supervisory:

    • Direct supervision of Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Assistant.
    • Oversight of volunteers and trainees in coordination with Warehouse Supervisor.
    • Ensure safe, efficient, and team-oriented warehouse environment.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Experience

    An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • 2–4 years experience in warehouse/logistics management.
    • Supervisory experience preferred.
    • Nonprofit or food distribution experience a plus.

    Required Skills/Abilities

    • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen prior to hire.
    • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
    • Ability to operate forklift in warehouse setting.
    • Ability to drive a 24-foot or smaller truck.
    • Good driving record required (Motor Vehicle Report will be obtained)
    • Bilingual in English/Spanish or other languages spoken in the San Gabriel Valley.
    • Ability to publicly advocate on behalf of Foothill Unity Center and the people it serves.
    • Available to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel between organization sites as needed.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    • Valid Driver's License
    • Forklift Certification
    • Electric Pallet Jack Certification
    • DMV Air-brakes Endorsements (Preferred)

    Work Environment:

    • The work is typically performed in between an office and warehouse environment setting with a moderate to loud noise level.
    • Environmental conditions may include exposure to temperature changes, sharp objects, slippery surfaces, crowded areas, or working near moving parts.
    • Occasional travel to other company locations may be required including overnight may be occasionally required.

    Physical Demands:

    • Ability to sit, stand, and move as needed to complete job duties.
    • Ability to commute to various client settings in the community, and to other FUCI locations.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both in person and on the telephone.
    • Ability to work at a computer terminal for some of the workload for this position.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to effectively operate a forklift.
    • Ability to move in and out of refrigerators and freezers tolerating temperature changes.
    • Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods.
