    Job Title: Program Director

    Reports To: Chief Program Officer

    Location: 799 East 152nd Street, Bronx, NY

    Hours: Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM + One weekend shift per month. On call 24/7.

    Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000

    Nazareth Housing is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting housing stability and economic mobility among vulnerable families and individuals in New York City. Since 1983, we have empowered clients to build pathways out of poverty and prevent homelessness through services such as emergency family shelter, supportive housing, homelessness prevention, and immediate needs assistance.

    Position Summary:

    Nazareth Housing is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Program Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of its new supportive housing program in the Bronx. This key leadership role ensures high-quality, coordinated services for clients and drives the success of a multidisciplinary team.

    The Program Director will supervise case managers, youth program staff, and front door reception, while managing all program components, including client assessments, domestic violence services, financial literacy education, and housing stability services. They will also liaison with building management and security as needed.

    This role requires strong operational oversight, staff development, partnership management skills, and a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. The Program Director plays a pivotal role in aligning service delivery with organizational goals and funder requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee day-to-day operations of program services, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
    • Supervise and support staff, including case managers, youth coordinator, and front door reception.
    • Monitor staff performance and provide regular feedback, coaching, and professional development.
    • Manage case reviews, ensure documentation accuracy, and uphold quality assurance standards.
    • Oversee compliance with all funder and contractual obligations, including timely reporting.
    • Lead recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of program staff
    • Serve as the primary liaison with community partners and internal stakeholders
    • Monitor and manage program budgets in collaboration with the finance team
    • Support program development and identify opportunities for growth and innovation
    • Maintain a strong focus on trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and housing stabilization
    • Represent Nazareth Housing in external meetings, community forums, and funder site visits
    • Occasionally work evenings or weekends for events or special programming

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in human services, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or program management role
    • Knowledge of supportive housing, homelessness prevention, and NYC social services systems
    • Experience with contract management, compliance, and budgeting
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
    • Familiarity with Footholds/AWARDS or other case management systems
    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Human Services, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
