    Position Overview:

The Homeowner Relationship Manager plays a key role in the long term stewardship and accountability of CBCLT homeowners and tenants after they’ve entered into the CBCLT agreement. This position ensures that community ownership is upheld, is honored with compassion, and support systems are in place to maintain the long term affordability and integrity of CBCLT’s portfolio. This is a deeply relational role, blending administrative coordination with high touch engagement and equitable accountability.

    • Serve as a dedicated point of contact and ongoing support system for CLT homeowners and tenants throughout their occupancy or ownership journey
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with CBCLT ground lease terms, including annual reporting, occupancy

    verification, and lease renewals

    • Support homeowners and tenants through key events such as refinancing, capital improvements, resales, tax reassessments and hardship scenarios
    • Track and support maintenance needs such as helping residents navigate contractor referrals, answering supportive questions about home care and required documentation with patience and clarity. Develop and implement long-term stewardship systems and databases that track resident milestones, support needs, and compliance status
    • Collaborate across relevant departments and team members to build and implement an annual or biennial homeowner survey to ensure homeowners are heard and collect relevant data.
    • Advocate for homeowners by working with banks and agencies to secure flexible options like extended payment plans or filing appeals and request exceptions to ease navigation of refinancing and tax assessments
    1. Administrative Support & Collaboration
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all long term, homeowners, and tenants, including renewals and communications, using CBCLT policies for databases and filing systems
    • Support with logistics and facilitation of workshops, sessions and community education events led by the Director of Stewardship.
    • Develop and facilitate post-purchase workshops to foster sustainable and supported homeownership.
    • Support Director of Stewardship in maintaining relationships with community partners by providing follow-up, updates, and day-to-day communication as needed.
    • Help distribute educational materials and support culturally relevant outreach efforts.
    • Attend required staff, committee and board meetings; assist with the taking of minutes, preparing of reports, and setting of agendas
    • Work cross-departmentally with Real Estate and Communications teams to ensure alignment of stewardship goals, engagement strategies, and resident support services
    • Collaborate with other team members to evaluate and improve systems to streamline and track processes
    • Support staff with internal reporting, proposals, preparation of materials and departmental strategic planning
    • Ensure that all documentation related to resales, land lease amendments, and legal agreements are accurately prepared and filed
    • Maintain detailed, confidential records of homeowner and tenant interactions, lease terms, and compliance materials using platforms like Salesforce and other tracking tools
    • Provide support to internal teams by preparing reports, summaries, and assessments related to resident retention, stewardship benchmarks, and housing stability metrics
    • Assist other staff members with day-to-day office administration
    • Other related duties as assigned
    • Meet regularly with the Executive Director and Director of Stewardship and Engagement to collaborate on homeowners, community events and special projects related to the homeownership journey and community connection.

    EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES

    • 3–5 years in affordable housing, resident services, community engagement, or related fields
    • Familiarity with home buying, lending, refinancing, resales, and long-term housing
    • Proven ability to support diverse, low to moderate income communities with care and clarity
    • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship building skills
    • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a mission driven nonprofit
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce or similar CRMs is a plus
    • Sound judgment in resident support, compliance, and community facing situations
    • Reliable transportation and flexible availability, including evenings and weekends as needed
