    About Project Guardianship

Project Guardianship (PG) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization providing legal guardianship services for older adults and people living with disabilities and mental illness in New York who have no family or friends able to assist them. PG’s team approach provides guardianship clients with services that allow them to be as independent and in the least restrictive setting possible. Since 2005, PG has served hundreds of New Yorkers and has become a leading voice in a national, interdisciplinary effort to re-envision and strengthen guardianship policy. More recently, PG created training and advocacy initiatives to help improve older adult and disability services throughout New York and to ensure that older residents have access to good guardianship and other decision-making support services, regardless of their ability to pay.

    The Position

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Data and Evaluation, you will manage projects to:

    (a) refine PG’s data collection, entry, and reporting, (b) evaluate outcomes for clients and programs, (c) help manage client data from a statewide network of guardianship providers, and (d) analyze internal and external data to inform PG’s policy and advocacy work.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who also thrives in a hands-on role—designing systems, analyzing data, and collaborating closely with program and legal staff to ensure we are delivering high-quality, accountable services.

    • Support internal monitoring processes and external audits.
    • Collect data outside of EMS catchment from direct services team regularly.

    Training and Evaluation

    • Provide training to staff and external partners on accurate documentation of client-specific data, including case notes, service delivery, legal milestones, and compliance requirements.
    • Support staff and partners in understanding the importance of high-quality data for evaluation, accountability, and improved client outcomes.
    • Create and update accompanying training/informational materials and recordings for the above.

    Reporting and Storytelling

    • Translate complex data into meaningful insights and narratives to demonstrate the impact of guardianship services.
    • Collaborate with Communications team to use client and publicly available data in compelling articles, social media reports, impact or policy briefs, etc.

    Strategy and Development

    • Support research and data-driven initiatives for the organization
    • Support the development, implementation, and management of a robust data collection and reporting system for a new statewide network of nonprofit guardianship providers, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and usability across all GANY member organizations.
    • Work with stakeholders and make recommendations for New York statewide data collection needs and methods
    • Co-author report on PG’s logic model and data practices, with recommended tools for data collection, for dissemination and training among partners and other providers

    Qualifications

    • You have a broad interest in and knowledge of public health, social sciences, social work, and/or public policy. You have a Master’s degree and at least 5 years of work experience, or other relevant work/education experience.
    • You love data and data management systems.
    • You know how to design and implement research projects and program evaluations.
    • You have the ability to show initiative, flexibility, and willingness to work on a variety of tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
