Background

Syrbanism is seeking qualified consultants to provide copy editing and translation services in English and Arabic for various assignments.

Scope of Work:

• • Copy Editing (English)
• Review and edit written materials to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
• Correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Improve readability and ensure adherence to the organization’s style guide.
  • Translation (Arabic ↔ English)
• Translate written materials from Arabic to English and from English to Arabic.
• Ensure accuracy, clarity, and cultural appropriateness in translations.
• Maintain consistency in terminology and style across documents.

Deliverables:

• Edited or translated documents in agreed formats, submitted within specified deadlines.
• All work to be accurate, free of errors, and consistent with provided guidelines.

Compensation:

Consultants will be contracted on a per-task basis, with payment based on agreed per-word rates.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Proven experience in professional copy editing (English) and/or translation (Arabic ↔ English).
• Native or near-native proficiency in the working language(s).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with development, humanitarian, or academic terminology is an asset.
