    TITLE: Rooftop Solar Program Manager

    COMPENSATION: $72,000 to $82,000 annually, (full-time, exempt), paid sick and vacation; fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance; and other benefits listed below.

    REPORTS TO: Program Director - Advocacy and Renewables

    POSITION SUMMARY

    This is a new position to run a new rooftop solar and storage program that will be developed and launched this year. The manager will recruit, educate, and guide low-income homeowners in Portland through the process of getting solar panels on their home. Some work will be collaborative, some will be independent, and being able to work well in both situations is a must. The Manager will work with the Program Director to develop a strong, accessible program that lowers energy burden and creates resilience for those we serve. Some aspects of the program are to be determined.

    The Manager will create and deliver a marketing plan with an equity lens. This may include activities such as public speaking, design and delivery of informational workshops and enrollment events, cold calling, canvassing, and working with other departments. They will also likely work with contractors that install solar panels, install battery systems, and make home repairs.

    This position will also be managing data for contract compliance such as lead acquisition, demographics, outreach and engagement activities, participant journey, contractor information, and evaluation data. Currently this involves Salesforce, sharepoint, and excel but may include other software platforms in the future as the program evolves.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    Outreach and Recruitment

    1. Manage overall marketing plan based on project enrollment needs and equity goals, as well as tracking, updating, and keeping all marketing materials on brand
    2. Engagement and education with the public at large including partner research, outreach and presentation delivery
    3. Relationship-building with other CBOs, municipalities, etc.

    Contract & Data Management

    1. Oversee and troubleshoot databases and work across multiple platforms with accurate and timely data entry.
    2. Conduct regular audits on databases to ensure accuracy.
    3. Manage and tracking participants via custom online platform while leading them through the program from initial interest to contract signing
    4. Track contract progress and work with Director to stay on track
    5. Includes Excel, Sharepoint, Salesforce, Acuity, Google Drive

    Participant Management & Project Coordination

    1. Intake for participants (to determine eligibility, home condition, azimuth, education, etc)
    2. Will work with participants as they complete the installation process
    3. Work with contractors as needed (coordination, follow-up)
    4. Will design, complete, and analyze follow-up surveys for participants

    QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS

    1. Experience in managing data, including data entry, troubleshooting, data analysis, reporting, and program evaluation.
    2. A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
    3. Ability to be flexibility as program is designed and refined, willing to learn new skills
    4. Experience with customer service and/or public speaking
    5. Knowledge about and passion for renewable energy or solar development preferred
    6. Bicultural/Bilingual in Spanish, Russian, or Vietnamese preferred
    7. Experience in adult education; diversity, equity, and inclusion, and/or environmental justice preferred
    8. Excellent interpersonal skills—able to communicate effectively with diverse organizations with different philosophies and goals
    9. Must be able to work flexible schedule - evenings, weekends
    10. Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and access to a vehicle

    • The position requires extensive time sitting in front of a computer, as well as long periods of time standing while working out in the field at community events, workshops, and training events.
