    SUMMARY

    The Development Operations Manager is an integral part of the Development Department and plays a critical role in meeting Signature Theatre’s fundraising goals. The Manager is primarily responsible for processing all contributions and acknowledgements, including data entry and information tracking. Additionally, this role provides research & analytics results and drives prospect management strategies for the development of program growth. This role also supports the Development Department in stewardship, solicitation, special events, and other activities. This is a full-time exempt hybrid position based at least 3 days a week at Signature Theatre’s administrative office in Arlington, VA with the option of 2 days virtual.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Data Entry and Information Tracking

    Manages the processing of all gifts in our Tessitura database, which includes submitting information to the business office, setting up and processing payment plans and credited donations, and sending acknowledgements in a timely manner

    Creates and distributes tracking reports for all contributions, including outstanding pledges

    Works with the Finance and IT Departments to reconcile the general ledger donor accounts and exercise independent judgment to streamline processes

    Serves as the lead “Power User” for Tessitura in the Development department, working closely with IT support and Tessitura Network, while responsible for maintaining clear donor records

    Creates and distributes donor lists for department mailings, emails and other projects

    Research, Analytics and Strategy

    Manages prospect management process and leads using Tessitura database

    Conducts donor research & develops briefings using various tools, to aid in cultivation and stewardship planning for individual major gifts

    Analyzes donor data to determine future cultivation, solicitation and engagement plans

    Provides regular reports on Campaign results & works with the team to support the projections & budgeting process

    With Deputy Director of Development, develops plans & strategies for targeted broad

    based solicitations based on donor constituency information

    Administrative Support

    Manages the expense budget for all Development programs

    Works with the department to create all Development related emails using the Wordfly application, including solicitations, events, videos and more

    Assists with solicitation letters and renewal calls as needed

    Assists with planning and executing of special event logistics, as needed with the Donor Services Manager

    Maintains inventory for department materials, including Annual Fund, and maintains donor hard files

    Coordinates with the Individual Giving team for donor recognition listings

    Serves as Development Department representative at fundraising and special events, both during office hours and after hours, providing assistance as needed

    Assist when needed with donor VIP ticketing in Tessitura

    Other duties as assigned

    DIRECT REPORTS and OTHER REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

    Reports to Deputy Director of Development, Individual Giving in addition to Director of Advancement and Planning

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor’s Degree preferred

    Highly motivated, energetic, reliable, independent self-starter

    Demonstrated ability to be proactive with outstanding problem-solving skills

    Highly organized with keen attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities

    Ability to interact with staff and donors in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible, resourceful and efficient

    Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills

    Maintains a high level of professionalism and confidentiality

    Strong computer proficiency

    Experience working with Tessitura or donor database software preferred
