    About the Role

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative People Operations Manager to join our team. In this role, you will oversee daily HR workflows, ensure compliance with employment laws, and support team members throughout the employee lifecycle. This position offers a balance of HR operational oversight and employee engagement, working closely with the Sr. Director of Operations to maintain a supportive and respectful environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Operations & Compliance: Ensure organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Oversee annual registrations, employee file maintenance, and internal communication protocols.
    • HRIS, Payroll & Benefits Administration: Maintain the HRIS (Employee Navigator) and direct benefits operations, encompassing health options, cafeteria programs, and retirement schemes. Process biweekly payroll disbursements, handle contractor payments, compile time management reports, and supervise timekeeping practices.
    • Talent Management: Facilitate hiring processes by collaborating with managers to identify needs, tracking candidates, and managing onboarding/offboarding workflows.
    • Staff Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for staff inquiries, including hosting weekly open office hours. Manage staff compliance, training, professional development, and certifications.
    • Performance & Culture: Conduct timely performance evaluations and support review processes. Collaborate with leaders to streamline HR programs.
    • Board Logistics: Support Board meetings and Board events, send emails to the Board to confirm details, and distribute Board packets.

    Required Skills & Abilities

    • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and procedures.
    • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
    • High level of ethics and discretion when handling sensitive employee information.
    • Strong time management and organizational skills.
    • Familiarity with HRIS (e.g., Employee Navigator, ADP, MyBenefitLink) is highly valued.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace.

    Preferred Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
    • 1+ years of HR management experience.
    • SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
