    POSITION OVERVIEW

The nonprofit Working for Women (W4W) is looking for an experienced program coordinator to join our team and lead the coordination and logistics of our growing program portfolio. This role works closely with the CEO and Director of Partnerships and Program Development, with clear structure and support in place as our programs continue to grow.

The Manager of Program Operations is the operational engine behind W4W's program delivery. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Director of Partnerships and Program Development, this role ensures that W4W's programs are implemented with a high level of attention to detail.

W4W is a rapidly expanding 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on advancing women's economic mobility in the U.S. by investing in programs and partnerships that help women build the financial power to control their futures. We invest in and amplify programs that help women who are ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed) navigate economic barriers and build lasting financial independence—connecting them to employment opportunities, expanding access to education and training, and working with nonprofit and corporate partners to remove barriers to advancement. A crucial part of our model are our partnerships with companies and nonprofits nationwide to direct time, skills, and funding toward women's economic mobility.

W4W's programs are delivered through a network of expert implementation partners. We currently contract with Her Financial IQ to deliver Money Talks™, our financial education program, and with Career Circle to deliver Connecting Women to Jobs, which provides certification and recruiting support to help women access employment opportunities. This role is central to ensuring these partnerships run smoothly — coordinating enrollment, communication, and logistics so each program reaches the women it's designed to serve.

The Manager of Program Operations will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and logistics of our programs — managing enrollment, communicating with implementation partners, and ensuring facilitators and volunteers have what they need — so every participant has a smooth, well-supported experience from intake through completion. This role also contributes to the organization's annual program strategy.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in program management, operations, or nonprofit coordination including familiarity with impact measurement. The candidate will bring lived and/or professional experience with economic mobility challenges, along with an understanding of trauma-informed practices (e.g., patience, non-judgment, and flexibility when working with people navigating hardship). The position requires empathy, collaboration, flexibility and a growth mindset.

This is a remote, 1099 contractor position, working 10-12 hours per week (40-48 hours per month). U.S. East Coast preferred. Must be able to attend virtual meetings during EST business hours and attend occasional in-person events in the New York/New Jersey area. Occasional evenings required. Limited travel (2-3 times per year) required.

Just as we champion economic mobility for the women we serve, we're committed to opening doors for the people who join our team. Experience matters, but we know it doesn't always come with the "right" job title — we're just as interested in the strengths and skills you'd bring to this role, however you gained them. We welcome and encourage applications from candidates whose education, career path, and life experience don't follow a traditional or linear route — and we're committed to building a team that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Enrollment & Pipeline Coordination

    • Coordinate with nonprofit referral partners to build and manage a consistent pipeline of qualified participants across W4W programs.
    • Track and coordinate the intake and enrollment process across implementation partners, ensuring participants are matched to the right program pathway.
    • Monitor enrollment and completion data in partnership with implementation partners to identify and flag barriers to completion.

    Partner Coordination

    • Serve as the operational point of contact for nonprofit partners around enrollment — communicating program timelines, coordinating referrals, and maintaining a steady pipeline of participants.
    • Coordinate corporate volunteer partner logistics including scheduling, co-facilitation, and shared reporting.
    • Collaborate with W4W's program implementation partners to ensure quality program delivery.

    Program Operations & Coordination

    • Manage program calendars, logistics, and communications across all active W4W program tracks.
    • Coordinate with facilitators and Skillunteers (skill-based corporate volunteer teams) to ensure smooth session delivery.
    • Coordinate logistics for program workshops and events delivered by implementation partners and facilitators.
    • Support the development and refinement of program materials and participant resources.

    Metrics & Reporting

    • Implement metric tracking and data collection in close coordination with the CEO and Director of Partnerships and Program Development.
    • Coordinate with Marketing Team to collect stories of impact.

    Strategic Planning

    • Contribute to the development of the annual Program Operations strategy, partnering with the CEO and cross-functional W4W leadership to align program goals, capacity, and resources with the organization's broader mission and growth targets.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

We know great candidates don't always check every box. If you meet many, but not all, of these qualifications, we still encourage you to apply.

    Experience & Background

    • Significant experience in program management, operations, or nonprofit program coordination, ideally within a role that worked across multiple partners or stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated experience coordinating participant pipelines — recruitment, enrollment, and tracking through to completion — in partnership with external organizations.
    • Experience working with nonprofit referral partners, program implementation partners, community organizations, or similar cross-organizational partnerships.
    • Experience working with corporate volunteers or skill-based volunteering programs.

    Skills & Competencies

    • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple program tracks, calendars, and logistics simultaneously.
    • Strong relationship-management skills, with the ability to serve as a trusted, responsive point of contact for implementation partners, referral partners, and volunteers alike.
    • Comfort with qualitative and quantitative data and metrics tracking.
    • Strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate high-level organizational goals into concrete, actionable annual plans.
    • Clear, warm written and verbal communication, particularly when coordinating across partners with different needs, timelines, and priorities.
    • Experience with Google Workspace (Drive, Mail, Meet), Neon (or similar), Asana, Slack, Zoom, and Claude preferred.

    Working Style

    • Self-directed and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in a lean, remote, growing nonprofit environment.
    • Collaborative, with the ability to partner closely with the CEO, Director of Marketing, and Director of Partnerships and Program Development on shared priorities.
    • Mission-aligned, with genuine investment in advancing economic opportunity for the ALICE population.
    • Ability to empathize and connect with women from diverse backgrounds, particularly women from ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed) backgrounds.
    • High level of emotional intelligence including empathy, collaboration and a growth mindset.
    • Comfortable pivoting between competing priorities and handling ambiguity in a fast-changing environment; takes feedback with curiosity and keeps functioning well even when plans change last-minute.
