    AMAAD is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a Resident Advisor. The Resident Advisor will collaborate with the Housing Program Manager and the Resident Advisement and Navigation Team to provide residents with individualized and specialized case management support. This role requires being a welcoming and affirming presence in the daily lives of individuals at a residential facility designed exclusively for individuals experiencing homelessness after incarceration, with the goals of reducing recidivism, improving safety and security, and facilitating effective reentry into society. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of best practices in supporting justice-impacted individuals and integrating education and awareness for diverse community populations.

    DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Provide application support for housing; ensure all participants are oriented to transitional housing policies and services prior to move-in.
      • Conduct assessments with participants to determine goals, barriers, resource needs, and other factors related to case planning, acting as a broker for services, and making referrals to community resources when necessary.
      • Co-facilitate monthly group meetings for program participants.
      • Keep updated records of all interactions with participants and any other contacts made on their behalf.
      • Provide ongoing monitoring and reporting of participants’ progress.
      • Co-support ongoing Independent Living Skills instruction in one-on-one settings.
      • Attend and contribute to the Housing Team’s weekly case review/team meetings.
      • Follow a framework of AMAAD CARES goals and program protocols to ensure resident safety and provide crisis intervention and escalation along a spectrum of intervention techniques.
      • Determine appropriate responses to problems and emergencies in conjunction with the Program Manager.
      • Provide project-specific status updates.
      • Complete all necessary paperwork; maintain files and records.
      • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Computer skills required: Spreadsheet Software (Excel), Word Processing Software (Word), Electronic Mail Software (Outlook), and Presentation Software (PowerPoint).
