Salary: $27.00 - $32.48 Hourly
The Counseling Service YMCA is seeking a Youth Counselor who will be responsible for managing client behavior, providing care to a designated caseload, including direct individual, group, and family sessions, coordinating specialized program services, and managing caseloads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of client behaviors and facilitation of sessions, including, but not limited to, outreach/engagement activities, group, individual, and family sessions, crisis intervention, case management, and referrals.
- Conduct screenings and assessments to determine the appropriate level of care, treatment, and discharge plans.
- Participate in diagnostic and treatment plan development in consultation with the Clinical Supervisor, as needed.
- Coordinate care and case management for the designated caseload, including completing ongoing reporting, outreach, referrals, and dialogue with professionals working with the caseload.
- Participate in team meetings, individual/group supervision, community coalition meetings, and identified training opportunities.
- Fiscal Management: attendance management, census administration, case retention, family support, fee collection, and outreach presentations.
- Conduct urine and saliva toxicology screens.
- Maintain superior Quality Assurance & Program Quality: contract and regulatory compliance, adherence to clinical standards and best practices, and timely, comprehensive completion of all related documentation.
- In the absence of on-site supervisors, will serve as a Manager on Duty (MOD) when requested/approved.
- When appropriate, serve as a Task Supervisor to interns/volunteers.
- In the absence of colleagues, will serve as an alternate clinician for clients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- CASAC-T, CASAC Provisional, CASAC (any level) required. MHC, MSW, MFT, MHC-LP, MSW-LP, MFT-LP, LMSW, LMHC, or LCSW preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of substance use treatment experience required.
- Knowledge of the Criminal Justice, Treatment Court, and Child Welfare Systems.
- Knowledge of motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care.
- Knowledge of mental health, CBT, and other evidence-based treatment modalities preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
