President and CEO- Neighborhood Housing Services of South Florida (NHSSF)

Neighborhood Housing Services of South Florida (NHSSF) seeks an experienced, strategic, and growth-oriented President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization into its next chapter. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the President & CEO will provide overall leadership and be responsible for strategic direction, financial sustainability, operational effectiveness, program performance, and organizational growth.

NHSSF is seeking an entrepreneurial leader who can strengthen current operations while identifying new opportunities for growth. A key priority will be diversifying revenue through new funding sources, strategic partnerships, earned-income opportunities, lending-related revenue, and other sustainable sources. The President & CEO will also evaluate existing programs, identify opportunities to improve or expand services, and develop new initiatives that respond to community needs and market opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have significant nonprofit or mission-driven leadership experience, preferably in housing, community and economic development, lending, financial services, real estate, or related sectors. Knowledge of the South Florida housing and/or finance market, particularly Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, and established regional relationships are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and establish a clear vision for NHSSF’s growth, impact, and long-term sustainability.
• Work with the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic and financial priorities.
• Strengthen operational systems, financial management, accountability, and organizational performance.
• Develop and execute strategies to diversify and increase revenue, including grants, government contracts, corporate and philanthropic support, strategic partnerships, earned income, and lending-related opportunities.
• Review and analyze existing programs for effectiveness, community impact, financial viability, and alignment with NHSSF’s mission.
• Identify and develop new programs, services, and business opportunities that support organizational growth and respond to community needs.
• Establish measurable financial, operational, and programmatic performance goals.
• Evaluate staffing and organizational structure to ensure NHSSF has the capacity to achieve its goals.
• Build and expand relationships with government agencies, financial institutions, funders, developers, philanthropic organizations, and community partners.
• Serve as a visible ambassador for NHSSF throughout South Florida and within the housing, community development, and financial sectors.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and high performance.

Governance & Reporting

The President & CEO will report directly to the NHSSF Board of Directors, with the Board Chair serving as the primary liaison. The President & CEO will oversee the day-to-day management of the organization and provide regular updates to the Board regarding financial performance, programs, operations, strategic initiatives, and organizational growth.

The President & CEO will collaborate with NHSSF staff, the Lending Consultant, outsourced CFO, and other professional advisors to ensure alignment among lending activities, financial management, programs, and organizational priorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of senior management or executive leadership experience in a nonprofit, housing, community development, financial services, lending, real estate, economic development, or related organization.
• Demonstrated experience leading organizational growth, transition, restructuring, or improvement.
• Proven success developing new and diversified revenue streams and strategic partnerships.
• Experience evaluating existing programs and developing new programs, services, or business opportunities.
• Strong financial and operational management skills, including budgeting, cash flow management, financial controls, forecasting, and organizational planning.
• Experience working effectively with Boards of Directors, funders, government agencies, financial institutions, and community stakeholders.
• Experience in affordable housing, homeownership, community development, lending, financial capability, or related sectors strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of the South Florida housing, real estate, community development, and/or financial markets strongly preferred; established relationships in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties are highly desirable.
• Entrepreneurial and results-oriented leadership style with strong communication, relationship-building, consensus-building, and team-development skills.
• Strong commitment to NHSSF’s mission and to expanding housing and economic opportunities throughout South Florida.
