Program Description
We are currently implementing a multi-year School Health Officer Training Program in Kenya. Launched in 2023, this initiative equips teachers with practical health skills to serve as School Health Officers (SHOs) within their schools. OGT’s proprietary training curriculum includes key areas such as clinical assessments (height, weight, mid-upper arm circumference [MUAC], growth curves), healthcare interventions (rehydration, menstrual pain, wound and burn care), and health education (nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, oral health).
To date, the program has enrolled 90 schools, serving 27,000 students and 1,630 school staff, with an estimated community reach of 90,000 individuals across Kenya.
Position Summary
We are seeking a mission-driven, detail-oriented Research & Programs Assistant – Global Health to support the implementation of our health education programs.
This part-time, fully remote position will provide health research, educational material development, and programmatic support to U.S. project leadership as part of a collaborative and dynamic team.

Compensation & Hours
This is a remote, contract position for 20-25 hours per week at a rate of $22/hour.
Working hours are flexible, but at least 75% of hours must occur during standard U.S. Central Time business hours (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST). Weekly meetings are required on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM CST.
As an Independent Contractor, the employee is solely responsible for payment of all applicable taxes and reporting compensation to the Internal Revenue Service.
Duration
This position is grant-funded through December 31, 2025. Continuation beyond this period is dependent on funding availability, employee performance, and organizational needs.
