    About This Position:

Spurred by an impactful 10-year organizational history and tremendous fundraising growth, the Major Gifts Officer is a newly developed role at MTC. This individual will join a development team of one full-time employee and two consultants. Together with the Managing Director, Artistic Director and Board of Directors, the development program will raise $1.8M in FY26. • Develop the annual major gifts plan for inclusion in the larger development plan.
    • Build and manage a portfolio of 75-150 individual major gift donors and prospects. Design effective strategies to cultivate and solicit major gift prospects (minimum gift level of $5,000) and personally solicit them for one-time gifts, multi-year pledges, and planned gifts
    • Implement regular portfolio touchpoints including calls, customized emails, letters, MTC tours, in-person meetings, and other donor engagement opportunities.
    • Support and engage staff leaders, the Board of Directors, and Development Committee members in the strategy and solicitation of their personal major gift prospects.
    • Expand the major gifts prospect pipeline by identifying potential donors within annual and mid-level giving pools, leveraging connections of existing major donors, and engaging key MTC constituents with philanthropic networks.

    Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with individual donors.
    • Proven track record of closing major gifts in the 5 and 6- figure range.
