    Award winning nonprofit home care agency, established in 1957, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team. This is a key strategic role responsible for overseeing all financial operations, supporting organizational growth, and ensuring compliance with funding and regulatory requirements.

    Organization Description

    Home Care Partners (HCP) is an award-winning non-profit serving Seniors and individuals with disabilities throughout the DC metro area. Our mission is to enable vulnerable people to remain in their own homes in comfort, safety, and dignity. We do this by providing comprehensive home care services, supporting family caregivers, improving home environments to facilitate aging-in-place, and fall-prevention programming. We are accredited by the Joint Commission, the standard setting organization in the health care field. Our main office is located in downtown Washington, D.C. in walking distance to several Metro lines. We have a budget of $10 million and over 100 full and part time staff members.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and manage all financial operations of the agency, including budgeting, forecasting, payroll, financial reporting, and cash flow management
    • Develop and manage agency and grant budgets, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to funding sources
    • Assess, maintain, and improve internal financial controls, ensuring systems are compliant, secure, and efficient.
    • Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, including analysis of budget-to-actual variances
    • Work in coordination with management team to oversee grant tracking, allocation of funds, and funder reporting requirements.
    • Supervise finance staff (team of 3 direct reports) and foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
    • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and oversee preparation and coordination of the annual financial audit
    • Work with HR to oversee employee benefit administration including deductions for insurance and retirement plans.
    • Manage the maintenance and use of our accounting systems, including BusinessCentral and Paycom, and working to maximize system efficiency and usefulness.
    • Partner with the Executive Director, Management staff, and Board of Directors to develop long-term financial strategies and provide timely, accurate financial insights to support decision making
    • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including those related to nonprofit financial operations

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting (BS or MS required, CPA designation a plus)
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management roles, preferably in the nonprofit sector, including experience supervising staff
    • Strong experience developing and managing complex budgets, including grant budgets
    • Proven ability to work effectively with a Board of Directors and nonprofit leadership
    • Demonstrated ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), federal Uniform Administrative Requirements (2 CFR 200), IRS tax rules, and other accounting standards in a nonprofit setting, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting accurate financial reporting and audit readiness.
    • Experience working with DC metro area government agencies; knowledge of DACL (Department of Aging and Community Living) grants is a strong plus
    • Background in home care or aging services is also highly desirable

    Position Details:

    • Tentative start date: October 1, 2025 in conjunction with start of FY 26 fiscal year. Flexible start dates considered.
    • Full-time position with hybrid telework options

    Salary Range
