    Senior Events Associate

    About Tina's Wish

Know Early. Know Hope.® This is the mission of Tina's Wish, a non-profit organization dedicated to funding groundbreaking scientific research for the early detection and prevention of ovarian cancer and providing critical gynecologic health education. Tina's Wish was founded in memory of the Honorable Tina Brozman, former chief judge of the SDNY Bankruptcy Court, who died two years after she was diagnosed — too late — with ovarian cancer. Since its inception in 2007, Tina's Wish has raised more than $34 million and is currently awarding $2.4 million annually in private grants for cutting-edge research. With its education and awareness platform, What to Know Down Below®, Tina's Wish provides vital resources, support, and information to help increase awareness about ovarian cancer and other gynecologic health topics to empower individuals.

    About the Role

Ready to own and grow a portfolio of high-impact fundraising events? Want to hit the ground running on day one?

Tina's Wish is seeking a Senior Events Associate to take ownership of a dynamic slate of fundraising and cultivation events. Reporting to the Manager of Regional Events, you'll join a team that plans and executes a robust portfolio of events annually across six major markets: NYC, Boston, Richmond, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Houston.

The role demands both sides of the events craft: the tactical rigor to independently run a complex event portfolio, from timelines and budgets to flawless day-of execution and the operational details that keep it all connected, and the creative instinct to shape how each event feels for donors, from the arc of the evening to the small touches that make guests feel personally valued.

This role also serves as a key liaison to our volunteer Event Committees, partnering with accomplished leaders and providing the tools, resources, and support they need to fundraise, cultivate new relationships, and expand the Tina's Wish reach. The ideal candidate is polished, responsive, and highly professional, with the initiative, trust, and confident communication to represent the foundation with warmth and credibility.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nonprofit events professional with a demonstrated track record of flawless execution, who cares deeply about the design of the donor experience, brings warmth to relationships with donors and volunteer leaders, and is ready to take on greater ownership as part of a rapidly growing foundation deepening its relationships with its community.

    Responsibilities

    • Event Planning & Ownership: Lead assigned fundraising and cultivation events independently, from concept through post-event follow-up in Southern California/L.A., Richmond, Long Island, and NY. Build event plans and programming aligned with the Foundation's strategy, manage budgets and timelines, and drive toward fundraising and engagement goals. Assist in launching “Runway for Research” in the Southern California/L.A. community in 2028.
    • Event Execution & On-Site Leadership: Own the run-up to assigned events, coordinating venues, vendors, internal stakeholders, volunteers, registration, and run-of-show. Anticipate issues, make sound calls in the moment, and lead on-site to ensure a seamless donor experience.
    • Event Committees & Fundraising: Serve as a liaison to Event Committees, managing meetings, communications, and follow-up. Partner with committee members on outreach, sponsorships, donor cultivation, and progress toward fundraising goals.
    • Donor Relations & Communications: Build relationships with donors and prospects through events. Draft polished invitations, program materials, remarks, and scripts, and support stewardship before and after each event.
    • Operations, Budgets & Reporting: Maintain accurate guest and donor data, track RSVPs and attendance, keep event pages on the website current, and complete post-event reconciliation. Monitor revenue, expenses, and ROI, and prepare concise reports to inform future planning.
    • Team Partnership & Ambassadorship: Partner with the Manager of Regional Events and Director of Events on larger events, cross-event coordination, and broader initiatives. Represent Tina's Wish with professionalism among board members, donors, volunteers, and partners.

    Required Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree.
    • 4-6 years of professional experience planning and executing fundraising events in the nonprofit sector, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex events independently. Events experience outside nonprofit fundraising is not a substitute.
    • Strong hands-on event planning experience across the full lifecycle: venues and vendors, budgets and timelines, programming, registration, on-site execution, and post-event follow-up.
    • Direct donor- and committee-facing experience, with the poise, judgment, and communication skills to represent an organization confidently in writing and in person.
    • Strong project management, initiative, and problem-solving skills, able to manage multiple priorities and stay calm and organized when things move quickly.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and a donor management system (eTapestry or comparable). Familiarity with Constant Contact, WordPress, Canva, and social media a plus.
    • Genuine commitment to the Tina's Wish mission.

    Policies and Schedule

    • The Tina's Wish team works on a hybrid schedule, typically two days per week in the NYC office; candidates must be able to commute to the office on a regular basis.
    • Staff are expected to be available Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm ET, with periodic additional time for in-person events, deadlines, and early morning or evening commitments.
    • Domestic travel for events, 2-4 times per year.
    • Hands-on involvement in event setup and execution.

    What We Offer

    • Join a high-energy, mission-driven team passionate about funding cutting-edge research for the early detection and prevention of ovarian cancer.
    • Take meaningful ownership of professional fundraising and cultivation events that engage and inspire our community.
    • Thrive in a culture that values growth, ownership, and innovation, and encourages team members to develop expertise and bring new ideas.
