    Organizational Overview

EnCorps advocates for equitable Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math education. Anchored in our belief that underrepresented students belong in STEM, we prepare STEM role models to educate and inspire students who lack access to high-quality STEM education.

The EnCorps STEM Teachers Program recruits, selects, and supports experienced STEM professionals and individuals ("Fellows") with STEM backgrounds as they explore and transition into teaching. EnCorps connects these professionals with public school students, helping under-resourced communities gain access to strong STEM learning while addressing the critical STEM teacher shortage.

    Position Summary

The Los Angeles Program Manager will play a key role in supporting EnCorps Fellows and advancing EnCorps’ regional program work across Greater Los Angeles and, as needed, Orange County. Reporting to the Program Director, the Program Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for Fellows as they move through the EnCorps Fellowship experience, with a particular focus on Fellows who are exploring teaching before entering a credential program.

The Program Manager’s primary responsibility is to support, advise, and mentor STEM professionals as they explore teaching and make informed decisions about entering the profession. This includes coordinating Fellow volunteer placements at partner school sites, supporting relationships with host teachers and school partners, conducting site visits, advising Fellows on credential pathways, and ensuring Fellows have a positive, structured, and well-supported experience.

This role also supports regional partnerships, professional development, data tracking, and recruitment-related activities. The Program Manager will work closely with the Program Director and other EnCorps staff to strengthen the Fellow experience, improve program systems, and support EnCorps’ broader mission to build and retain a strong STEM teacher workforce.
